A million infections aren't killing 100k+ Americans in a handful of months, COVID is. It's a false equivalency to presume that all infections have equal risk. If Americans weren't aholes things would be almost back to normal by now. Because we insist on going to the gym and not wearing masks, we're dragging this out.

It's not about YOUR risk, it's about the risk YOU impose on everybody else.

You really need to stop making things up. I worked on facial recognition software, a standard mask won't fool it. You could wear a mask, sunglasses, a hat, and a wig and facial recognition will still pick you up about 60% of the time. We tested it with scarves and bandannas against surveillance footage of simulated bank robberies. And AI systems today are light years ahead of the stuff I did. Your imagined scenario suggests all you know about facial recognition you saw in movies.

Funny how you go on about how "all lives matter" but not when it affects your ability to go to the gym.
Well said. I donít know why people want to play Russian Roulette with their lives. Stay disciplined until we get a vaccine. I have to admit. Celebrating my sons 7th birthday over zoom was though for me. He handled it well though.

There is no social security system in the U.S, and no public health system either. It is all left to private insurance policies, although the survival of the society and improving the standard of living for the population is a responsibility of the government.

As a consequence, although the US is only 5% of the world's population, it suffers 25% out of the deaths due to COVID-19 worldwide and the peoples income is collapsing threatening the survive ability of the population.

The most worrying part of course, is when you get people saying "move ahead" and by saying this, they really mean "ignore that the problem even exists and do nothing to prevent it happening again in the future".
Also Americans are not the most disciplined culture. ďIím not wearing a mask because itís my right not to wear one.Ē Iíve heard many people saying this.

It also comes down to setting an example by our leader. If he stressed to everyone to please wear masks and conduct social distancing and stay disciplined, more people would be disciplined. He downplayed the coming of the virus even though many people in different sectors and committees told him to close the borders. Pushed to open the economy too soon. Now if we closed the borders we wouldnít have to close our economy in the first place. If people donít travel then they dont stay at his hotels. Saying that he wonít wear a mask. Sets a poor example. Dumb ars comments about using bleach. I can go on and on. FWIW I used to consult on the Foreign Affairs Committee and quit in February as a result of basically being useless. Even conservative senators approached Trump to act proactively but he didnít. Maybe closing the borders wouldnít have worked but it would send a strong message to all other countries that look to us to set an example that we are serious about this and are able to sacrifice a small sector of our economy for the betterment of the majority. Just my two cents

Is it worth reducing the chance of corona to leave yourself open to all kinds of infections for the rest of your life where your immune system cant fight it off? I understand if the mask is a short term thing (like a week or 2) but if were gonna be wearing it for 20-30 yrs... there are concerns
Good point. I only wear mine when Iím indoors in public. I also have asthma and wearing a N95 mask, especially, cuts off too much air and that could be dangerous for me. So I wear a less affective surgical mask. Itís a catch 22 but this might be our future. Too many humans on this planet. Lol in a way we are like a virus also. We go somewhere and consume all its resources and move on to another.

you understand there are no vaccines for any other covids. Fauci has been working on a vaccine for hiv for decades and nothing is in sight. Also- even if we get a vaccine.... it will not be 100%. The flu vaccine is like 60% effective..... so there are gambles either way.

so would you rather take your chances with the virus or live the next 30+ years in this situation (which would get worse)

Some people confuse freedom with responsibility. Being irresponsible doesn't make one free, it makes him a real anarchist! Partly why words like "anarchism" and "socialism" have diverted meaning in the US than the rest of the world.

Now you confuse gambling with 60% success.

The difference is that this virus is a very young virus. Our human genome is being exposed to it for the first time. We havenít developed innate immunity towards it yet like the flu virus. We have partial immunity to it since the onset of the Spanish Influenza. The father of the modern day flu virus. Iím still suspicious whether this virus was engineered or not. By whom who cares at this point. My wife, who is a veterinarian, is seeing more cats lately. They are having a weird blood vessel disease of the eye called uveitis. She is seeing much more of these cases. She used to see 2 a year. She has seen Couple of dozen already. 4 positive corona cases in cats. Coincidence? I do t know but very interesting.

127.845 deaths (+60 deaths) in 35mins and counting.

2700 American civilians will die today while there is no war or 09/11, a 10k town will be vanished out of the map in the next four days, an 100K city will be vanished off the map while the NBA Regular season will still be in progress.

I'm a long time proponent of improving our health care and social support structures, but it's not true that there is nothing in the US.

Also, the US is not 25% of the Corona Virus deaths.

No it's not 25%, It's actually closer to 26.5 % out of the world deaths.

Many people are and me, I am among them... The fact it first appeared in China which affects the world industrial production more than any other country, contributes to enhance those suspicions.

Maybe the "plan" was to hit China only, but it got out of control.

No it's not. There have been several studies of just how much China has lied about their numbers and about the total lack of data from large areas of India, Asia, and Africa in general.

There are no lies... hydroxychloroquine is the only substance with proven results against corona virus (google it) and India is the only country which invented the substance and makes it. The Chinese have bought 25 tons of hydroxychloroquine and another 20 tons "went" to Europe, before India stopped the exports so that they can have enough for their own people. U.S.A didn't ask even for one litre while they could still have it.
