If you are the Wizards, who do you build around? Beal or Wall?

If you are the Washington Wizards, who do you build this franchise around going forward? I mean in John Wall's absence, Beal has become the #1 option and he knows what it is like to lead a team on his own. However, when John Wall was healthy, Wall was the #1 option on their team with him leading this team and running the offense. Wall is coming off an Achilles injury and when he comes back next season at 100 percent, it begs the question of who you build this franchise around, Beal or Wall?

Neither will give you championship aspirations as a first option. Beal would be a great 2nd or 3rd option though so I'd pick him. Who knows what kind of player Wall is when he returns as well.

If Wall somehow comes back to being the player he once was, or he comes back to being something closer to that then you have yourselves a conundrum

You build the franchise around neither. Trade Beal while his value is high and pray someone allows you to get rid of Wall's contract. Start from the ground up and rebuild.

No way the Wizards trade Beal or John Wall to the Lakers especially for those players...what you think this is, Golden State?

Easily Beal but he’ll be in Miami as the main scorer on a championship team here soon if Giannis doesn’t come (he will).

How crazy is it that the only way I think the Lakers have a shot at trading for Beal at this point is if they agree to take on Wall's contract?

No one is trading for Walls contract unless they get a ton of assets and/or Beal

Which is why it behooves the Wizards to get rid of John Wall and send him to a team that could take on his contract but who? I could think of bad teams in need of a player like Wall

Literally what I came in here to say

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

a player who relies 100000000000000000% of his burst advantage over others, who turns 30 shortly, coming off a torn achilles?

Dude, he is done. He may very well be a decent player when he returns, but will be criminally overpaid, and even without his injury his decline would have been a sharp one. **** happens when you never really develop and just rely on your unwordly athletic traits.

They would rather have the cap space I’d say

I’d also be willing to trade for players whose contracts simple outlast Wall’s, even if the deal doesn’t involve getting rid of him.
