If he gets those hires right, there’s no reason to think he can’t thrive there.”

This is the direction Mitchell was going when he said he knows him personally, great dude, great person, really good business man........key is now having the right GM who like you said has GM experience.
How can he know landscape when he has never worked for NBA team before? Mitchell is only saying things he doesn't know FO business nor does Rose yet he's a beginner like Phil.

His landscape is his reputation, contacts and relationships, you are ignoring this as what is being discussed. He is a very successful business man, you can't compare Phil here.

You do know Mitchell didn't have to say anything at all right ?

Leon Rose is a smart business man but...like his predecessors, the question is, can he bring superstars to the Garden? THAT'S why he was hired. The Knicks didn't hire Phil Jackson for his Front Office experience. They brought him in, because Dolan hoped he would attract superstars. Same with Donnie Walsh. Etc.

The problem/question do players feel comfortable playing for Dolan?

Rose's job got a lot harder once Steve Stoute basically let the cat out of the bag that he was hoping the Mills/Perry brand of keeping it a run organization ran by African Americans. That's fine. You still gotta know what you're doing. He also let it slip that he looked at Miller as a temporary solution...which is again, fine but who is going to take this job after so many have been burned?

Then the Spike Lee situation. Both Dolan and Spike acted like douche bags. Definitely was pouring salt in a festering wound.

I'm hoping Leon Rose does the following:

    1. Find a Real GM: The Knicks have a gazillion late first round draft picks in a draft that is horribly thin after first 5 picks. Need a GM who isn't afraid to do what it takes to move up in a draft, stops "building assets" with crap, & stops signing Ex-Bulls.

    2. Trade for John Wall and multiple unprotected first round picks. No way the Wizards give up Beal. They'll ditch John Wall in order to not go bankrupt. Knicks get a name with 2 seasons remaining and a legit chance of winning th lottery.

    1. Knicks have 1 late round pick in a draft that is thin, not sure where gazillion comes from?

    2. You do know Mahnini comes off the books and they are under 100m with Wall? I heard Wall looks amazing it won't be as much a one sided trade as people think.
Wall, Beal, Bertans, Hachimura, Bryant................that's actually not bad and they will have room to add a mid level FA and use the MLE and Binannual, that is three more players and they too have a shot in the lottery of getting a decent draft pick.

If you listen to Rose in his only time to the public he said the Knicks have cap, young players, and picks, so read the writing on the Wall, and of course he was hired to do what he does best, you want him to do what he doesn't know?

NEW: Charles Oakley and James Dolan have been ordered to mediate their dispute by a federal appeals court. Mediation will be held on Mar. 31, and presided over by former NYS Sup. Ct. Justice Charles Ramos. Both Oakley and Dolan must appear by telephone.

Well, considering a lot of Knick fans on the web forgot that Lebron, Wade, & Bosh clowning the Knicks back in 2010.

We know this because a lot of Knick fans were convinced Durant and "Kylo-Irving" were headed to the Knicks...to know that, the delusional owner is convinced throwing money at the problem works.

Now, what's interesting. Leon Rose is keeping GM Scott "Tyler" Perry who has drafted a million small forwards and the self-professed inside guy who drafted Durant. I don't think it's necessarily a compliment. I think, Rose realizes there are no moves to be made.

All of Rose's clients are signed to big, long-term deals. The Knicks have nothing of value to move one of Leon's boys w/o giving up a ton of prospects and developing players.

Lol. It's funny the knicks owner can't see that the majority of championship teams already had a home grown bona fide star before trading or signing another. Maybe all of them. But every couple years we do the same **** expecting a different results

    Agreed.

I'm really nervous about this Chris Paul deal. Chances are, Chris Paul is very self aware of his image. He knows the toxic history of the Knicks but if the Knicks sign his buddy Melo to come back...he might say yes to a trade.

To me, that's my worst nightmare. The Knicks need to understand, you make sure you have at least 2 transcendental players, then and only then do you load up on veterans...on YOUR terms.

    Detroit did it...

    Golden State did it...

None of this overpaying for a white horse to come in and save the day.

Obviously you have no sense of facetious sense of humor.

Knicks now have two first-round picks in each of the next two drafts and a total of seven in the next four.

For the small-minded: YES, the Knicks should give up most of not ALL of these extra picks for who they believe is the Franchise player: LaMelo Ball.

Put your money where your mouth is. Don't be cheap Perry. That's what previous GMs did with the draft. It ended in DISASTER more times than not.

The New York Knicks are hiring CAA’s William Wesley as Executive Vice President/Senior Advisor, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/nFXDYVhv0d

Wish Rose and WWW the best of the luck cause this is the hardest job in the NBA. They really need to hit it out of the park with their selection of Coach and their next few draft picks. Best case scenario is contending for the playoffs in 22-23.

So Leon Rose apparently stated he was looking forward to working with Mitch, RJB, Knox, Frank and DSJ.

Seems like the team wants to go the Youth development way after the Knicks lied to us by pretending they were doing that this season.
Too bad all they did was delay the development of Knox and DSJ.
