Look at it this way remember when Lakers had young Bynum with mad potential? Lakers were hell bent on not moving him base on his potential and pass on the likes of Bosh and Mello with a Prime Kobe. Best case is keeping THT and see how he turns out while winning but if it boils down to a prime piece to team with Davis while in is prime you do it.

I still think that the best bet is someone who could be acquired via the buyout market (OKC's Horford/NYK's Noel/SAC's Whiteside). Thought trading for Chris Boucher was a possibility but I'm not sure if the Raps take Kuz and him alone in exchange for arguably the teams' best defender/rim protector.

This I agree. Kuzma has to be the one to be traded. Plus Lakers can acquire another player when the prorated contracts allow it. But only if one super star becomes available, then THT could be sacrificed for the good of the franchise. But if they decided to just make small trade, then go.
