I'll start this biotch off....
I'm going on draft day trades only. And assuming it will be like last year that that the draft is before players with POs have to pick up their options I'm not gonna include Rondo, KCP & McGee cause we still won't be able to trade them. I'm also gonna assume that we're gonna re-sign both Howard and DMC so the C position isn't a necessity.
I see this as our roster going into the draft with DMC and Howard included even though they still aren't signed but just to get a feel of what we need
Bradley, Caruso, Rondo
Green, KCP, Cook
LBJ, THT
AD, Kuzma
McGee, Howard, DMC
Again I see our biggest need is depth at both Forward positions. I'm hoping we can re-sign Morris but I believe that's a long shot. IMO it will depend a lot on what his brother is gonna do. Both can be starters with big roles in Portland. Just saying lol....
So the only players we can trade on draft night would be Kuzma, Green, Cook, Caruso and Bradley. And our 1st but after drafting a player, in other words have a deal in place before actually drafting the player. Bradley and Caruso are both worth way more then what we're paying them. IMO Green is worth more then what we could get. That only leaves Kuzma and Cook along with whomever we draft. Now add that we should have about $12-15 million in cap space meaning that we could trade for a player making up to about $20 million for our 3 trade assets.
We trade Kuzma, Cook and 1st (after we make our selection) for Cameron Johnson and Kelly Oubre
Simple trades I would look into starting draft night
Our 1st - but would have to have a deal in place when the pick comes up. We have to trade the player we draft, we cannot trade the pick.
1. Derrick Rose - Gotta hope another team doesn't trade for him before our pick comes up. Detroit was looking for a late lottery-ish pick but that was never gonna happen. With them trading off Drummond they're in full rebuild mode, Rose does nothing for them. If he's still isn't traded by the time our pick comes up they could hold off and try and get a better deal during the season but they would be gambling on Roses health. They could get nothing if he gets hurt.
2. TJ Warren - He's had a good season for the surprisingly good Pacers but I'd see his availability. They did take a 2nd round pick just to take on Warrens contract. They'd double dip with last seasons available cap space. A 2nd just to take him then trade him for the #29 pick.
3. Kelly Oubre - I read that he was available before the TD. Not 100% sold on this one cause this would take up all of our available cap space for free agency. Would gauge the feel of free agency before making this deal.
Quinn Cook - Not expecting much
1. Stanley Johnson - This is if SJ decides to pick up his PO. I'm sure Toronto would jump at this deal.
2. Mike Scott - Philly will be way over the LT next season that I'm sure they'd welcome Cooks contract that is only guaranteed for $1 million next season. Plus they were said to be looking for shooting.
Kyle Kuzma - At the moment I would wait to see what happens draft night and see what I could get for Cook. Also wait till KCP, Rondo & McGee all opt into their contracts and are now trade eligible.
^ Did someone say Kelly Oubre?

Yeah I wouldn’t want Chris Paul. He’s got 2/85mill left on his contract. That 2nd year is a player option but he will opt in, why wouldn’t he. Getting him would also mean there’s zero chance at getting giannis. Without Chris Paul the odds sky rocket to like maybe 5 percent.
Your baby can't do this
No thanks to Chris Paul and that huge contract
We ain’t getting Giannis..
I’d trade for Paul. Let him and Bron expire together and then go after someone in 2022. There’s a good group that should be available then. AD will only be 29 going into that summer. We chased Kawhi and really there’s no reason to assume Giannis is coming here. We should be in win now mode instead of trying to get a young superstar. Just my opinion. Not that it matters..
