Was a super fun game to be at. Lots of Let's Go Flyers chants in the crowd and it was a lot of fun screaming goodnighy at all the rats headed for the exits right after the 5th goal was scored.

Also, Castan leaves Laughts alone already man. You'd think he banged your wife at this point. It was a bad turnover, but a total fail all around on that play. He also otherwise had another solid night.

And JVR likely out for a while with a broken hand, so we will be seeing Farabee back tomorrow night most likely.

also, going back to this point for a second:
i'm pretty sure some of those units will turn out to be below average when the games count, but right now, on paper, even the least of them seem to have a coinflip chance of being average or better, relative to their role.
before accounting for tonight's results, the flyers' performance this season:

goals scored: 215; 9th in the NHL .... technically above average
goals allowed: 185; 10th .... also above average

    PP%: 21.6%; 9th .... once again, above average
    PK%: 81.2%; 12th .... (barely, but still) above average

    at even strength:
    goals scored: 161; 11th .... above average
    goals allowed: 142; 9th .... above average

    CF% (5v5): 51.3%; 9th .... that's above average, too
    SCF%: 51.7%; 9th .... above average
    HDSC%: 54.4%; 6th .... this one's legitimately good.

    also, FWIW:
average age: 27.2 years; 9th youngest

the flyers are in/around the top 10 in just about every meaningful statistic, but they aren't in the top 5 in any of them.

there's something interesting going on here....

those chants came through in the broadcast, and so did the roars when the flyers scored.

it sounded like there was a 70/30 split for WAS/PHI fans in the arena.

The Caps fans that we're at the game were not happy at all about so many Flyers fans being there lol!

That's how it used to be back in the day. I think the first Flyers game I went to was when Brendl scored his first goal...against the caps, on a dump-in. There were literally busses that came in from philly and dropped off people for the game. The lets go Flyers chants were actually louder than the lets go caps chants.

I hate that the caps got good, tickets are a lot more expensive now *sigh*

    without getting anything from ghost
with hart being bad to start the season and then injured
    without getting anything from patrick
    without lindblom
with jvr being super unlucky around the net

we had a ton of bad breaks this season and the sky is the limit with our current and future

I understand people donít want to move provorov ... I donít either unless itís for elite talent. I was the one before anyone saying we should draft him at 7 in his draft year, and he was the best dman in his class ... itís not like Iím anti-provorov ... but if we are going to get Marner, Itís going to take our best defender to acquire him.
You were not "the one before anyone." not around here.

Absolutely. Donít you make me pull post history. I predated PEM for calling for us to draft him. Same goes for TK.

While you may have brought Provorovs name up in March, you also wavered heavily during the lead up to the draft.

I'll continue to sit in the conductor seat of the Provorov hype train. Lol
