    1974 - 1st overall: Bill Walton

That's right, we drafted 3 busts with a 1st or 2nd overall pick when a Hall of Famer was literally drafted immediately after them. Heck, in 6 tries, we drafted 3 busts, 2 good but not great players, and 1 great player who got hurt and only played for us for 4 seasons.

We also drafted Moses Malone and traded him before he ever played for us, and our Mychal Thompson pick at #1 overall was the same year Larry Bird was picked #6. Then you have other things like Brandon Roy getting hurt or Sabonis not being able to come over when we drafted him in 1986.

Seriously, Blazers luck is not pretty. It's like they are perpetually being paid back for some bad Karma or something.
Not only does my team know how to draft busts (Kandi man), but those guys your team drafted, we sign them when their best/healthiest days are over and expect them to carry the franchise (Bill Walton). Only the Twolves would throw mad money at Kandi man lol.

.396 winning percentage, and 1 trip past the first round of the playoffs...ever. 1 playoff win in the last 16 years.
Should have asked to be transferred to the Eastern Conference. I'm pretty sure a couple of NBA Finals runs would be on the table in the 2000s and who knows what would come after.

    Warriors in the same period:
    2002 - 3rd pick - Mike Dunleavy
    1995 - 1st pick - Joe Smith
1993 - 3rd pick - Anfernee Hardaway who was traded along with 3 future 1st round picks for Webber who was traded away for trash the next year.
    1986 - 1st pick - Chris Washburn
    1980 - 1st pick - Joe Barry Carroll
In 1980 Kevin McHale went 3rd overall
In 1986 the guys drafted after Washburn were Chuck Person, Kenny Walker and William Bedford
In 1993 The trade involved the best 2 players in the draft
In 1995 Rasheed Wallace went 4th and Kevin Garnett went 5th
In 2002 the 3 guys drafted after Dunleavy were Drew Gooden, Nikoloz Tshkivili, and Dajuan Wagner.

Yea, they definitely weren't great at drafting top picks, but it's not like they were passing up a bunch of generational talents to do so. And none of the picks were literally the very pick after theirs like the Blazers did with all of Jordan, Durant and McAdoo.

not only that, we actually courted him like he was KAJ

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

1980 they effectively traded Kevin McHale and Robert Parish to the Celtics for Joe Barry Carroll. Oof.
1993 The trade involved the Warriors sending out Penny and 3 other first round picks for Chris Webber for 1 season ... double oof.

And that is not mentioning a long list of horrible trades. But I am absolutely not trying to say the Warriors are among history's worst franchises because if you go back to the beginning of the franchise you get Arazin, Shue, Gola, Guy Rodgers, Wilt, Nate Thurmond, and Rick Barry, so they definitely were doing some things right way back then.
