I don't understand how two grown men can talk for two days about what each side wants, break the meeting to put something in writing, and STILL not agree.

It's pathetic that they can't agree on this after meeting face to face. My assumption was that after the meeting broke, they were in agreement. Why stop talking and bring a written offer to the table if it's going to get rejected?

But no, they're gonna hold things up for 5 to 10 extra games all because they would of rather have grieved it if the owners went with the original 50 games plan
Well...they didn't give them what they wanted to be "paid". They got the percentage they wanted to be paid. But it's 25% less (they offered nothing less than 80 games at pro-rata) in terms of overall. Think of it this way. If you and your friend were ordering a pizza and you said "yeah I'll eat half of the pizza" and your friend brought home a bagel bite and gave you half...did you get all the pizza you wanted?

The owners, also, didn't "offer" 10 more games. They offered 3 more games of pay for less games played, but they had been sitting on around 57 games of pro-rata pay before. They're not offering any more money. They just offered to work a little less to get the same amount. They've guaranteed more, but it isn't some major leap in pay. The "50 game" schedule was never an offer. It was a threat.

They also would "rather have grieved" because they'd have almost certainly won if they implemented a 50 game schedule with the language within. It's 100% why they said "where and when" because it was their own way of saying "we're done, put what you want in, you know we're going to win in court". The owners at this point are dragging it out because every day they drag it out, the more chance they have to win a grievance.

The owners have still not moved a ton. Both sides at this point need to agree in the middle. Around 65 games.

And if you want any more proof the owners are negotiating in bad faith, they're so "upset" at this offer (10 more ****ing games), they won't respond immediately. You know why? They know it's a ticking clock and every day they drag their feet, the less days there are to play 70 games. The players have moved from 114 games to 70. The MLB owners have moved from 48 to 60 and now are so hurt by the players offering 70, they can't even respond? But yeah, it's the players' issue.

It would be fitting if all the player/owner bitterness and all the public infighting was 100% irrelevant because they canít play anyway.

There were always going to be positives, but itís interesting how many of these are hitting today.

They're reportedly looking back into the "bubble" option.

If they do that, there's not going to be a season.

Players are looking bad for saying where and when then rejecting a proposal that was discussed between Clark and Manfred and ask for basically peanuts more ...

Owners should of just countered right away with 66 games and put it all on the players again

Only if you misunderstand what they were saying by "when and where". They never once meant "whatever deal you give us". We also have no idea what was spoken of at that meeting.

I have no reason to think the players look bad here. They deserve every penny they fight for in a fight between them and the ownership.

Not looking good for players accepting the 60 games . They want to keep their rights to file a grievance againts the league once Manfred sets a 50 game schedule.
