The fact that it’s still a percentage of prorated pay AND dependent upon a postseason have to be dealbreakers for the players.

The players should offer something like 70 games, 100% of prorated pay, expanded postseason this year and next, give owners the option to defer 20% over the next 2 years at no interest, put 15% into escrow account that is returned to the owners if there is no postseason. I think something like that is beyond fair.

I forget, are these proposals to play games in every market or just the three state hub thing they were talking about? I ask cause their three hubs were Arizona, Florida and Texas, all of which are experiencing COVID spikes right now...

This will most likely be the final offer and counter from both sides after players review and most likely counter..
If they dont come to an agreement by Monday, itll go to the commissioner..

They need to start the season in July and they're running out of time

They probably will but it will be a 50 games imposed season that the players don’t really want . Those negotiations of the next CBA should be a lot of fun.

Not really in doubt at this point. Manfreds said as much. He can bang the gavel and play any punt of games at full pro-rata per their March agreement.

Question is how many games. Which is directly tied to how much the owners and players agree to play for. No agreement and it'll be a roughly 50 game season.

I believe the plan is to use home ballparks.

If the players want fair they have the option of playing in the KBO or the NPB. Oh yeah, they'd get paid drastically less money from everyone else.
