    1) Saddiq Bey
    2) Cole Anthony
    3) Josh Green

Likely 1 or 2 will be there at 17 and Josh Green would be my ideal 2nd round get if he is there.
I would love to grab Marcus Smart and move into next years draft, but likely a pipe dream...

I like Smart, but I don't really see the necessity. If you look at the stats, Okogie is basically at the same level in his respective year to where Smart was in year two. They are slightly different gameplay style wise, where Smart is the superior distributor and Okogie is the superior rebounder, but all other numbers are very similar across the board. I don't read too much into some of the advanced-advanced metrics like BPM, Deff Rating, etc, because they are severely skewed towards team defense and lets be honest, Boston and Minnesota are light and day as far as team defense and the defensive attributes/effort overall is concerned. I would do it if you have a plan to move Okogie, otherwise I think Okogie has a higher ceiling if you can develop him.

    PSD Grammar Lesson #1:

    a) their - stands for "belonging to them"
    b) there - means "over there" as in location
    c) they're - short for "they are"

I don't agree dude. Smart is a pitbull defender, whose physicality and attitude are way beyond stats. He makes a difference in every game. This is more about now, versus what Okogie could become. Josh doesn't have that frame to be able to be physical with any guard like Smart does. As a Wolves fan, I have literally no interest in seeing what a player who has 2 years under his belt can become, I feel we already know what he is to a degree, and that comes squarely off our inability to develop talent over the years.

Smart was a better defender early on in his career than Okogie is today, without question. Now if you could promise me that Okogie will get better fundamentally guarding a lead guard, and become a good 3 point shooter, then yes, stay the course. But I don't trust that at all honestly. Okogie gets pushed around by strong guards like Beal, and has trouble staying in front of a Lillard. Smart doesn't have issues with either of those scenarios.

    1) I guarantee Okogie's 3pt shot will come around
    2) While I completely agree with our inability to develop players(lately, and by that I mean pre 2017), what does that have to do with the current FO? Flip was actually pretty damn good at developing KAT, Lavine and to some extent Wiggins. I expect our current FO to develop players much better, and Naz Reid is a great example of that.
    3) What Okogie has and Smart doesn't is actually a better frame and better range and positional flexibility. I think that Okogie can legitimately guard 1-3 in the near future(6'4" and 7' wingspan) where Smart has more physical limitations.

I don't know man. I feel like if you want that type of player, you can find a better deal for Jrue with the Pels.

Would love Smart also to teach some of our Pups defense ..... Didn't go so well with Butler who tried.
Problem getting Celtic picks is it will be late next year as well.... don't see us giving a 1st overall for him but if we could maneuver something it would be a very good get...

Now off the latest mock via Bleacher Report....it has the Timberwolves keeping the #1 overall pick and drafting LaMelo Ball who moves up all the way to #1

I don't think Melo "moves up all the way to #1." I think that he has legitimately been the most likely #1 pick for at least two months now.

On another note, was just reading an article on Canis how the Wolves have exactly 4 of their 74 picks throughout history play in an All-Star game. OMG, that is so bad, I am beyond words.

until proven otherwise, I will stick with being a MN sports fan and our history-we can't develop crap.

I have an affinity for Smart, after watching him just pitbull guys around in the playoffs is all. He is a guy who can check both guard positions, and in today's league, having a player be able to do that laterally is huge.

I wouldn't trade the #1 for a really good role player though, it would need to be a trade down for example.

Butler is a different beast though. A chip on his shoulder that overflows into his every action. Smart is nothing like that. Plus, Wiggins is gone now, who probably just killed Butler on a nightly basis.

can we go back to the development part haha? We absolutely suck at drafting and developing. Regardless of a new regime, until that changes and sustains, I have literally no trust in our team to be good at it. None.

Probably right.. Just wish that KAT would see the light and just be Good... not great on the Defensive side. Also hold some folks accountable. Not sure that is in his personality...

Didn't we steal the Nets coach that really helped some of their young guys develop?
