We technically been shut down but no one here is really following it.

My guess is the whole shut down was in anticipation of Thanksgiving and christmas gatherings, now those surges should have passed so I guess they feel comfortable opening up.

State of Iowa data shows that over the pandemic, roughly 2/3 of the hospitalized patients that tested positive for Covid had it as their primary diagnosis. 1/3 of those that tested positive had another diagnosis listed as primary.

This does not really surprise me. Covid positive patients are not necessarily hospitalized for their symptoms. Frequently, they are sent to the hospital with something entirely different going on.

It did not show effectiveness to the extent that they wanted it to. It would still be better than nothing, though.

And, by the way, I get my 2nd vaccine February 4. The first one went pretty well, with just a bit of soreness and some fever the next night. I was fine after I slept for a while.

How insane is it that we may have more Covid deaths in the US than we did Spanish Flu deaths considering the Spanish Flu killed 50 million people worldwide?
