This is one of the things i was hoping for when Cole signed here. Good to hear Sevy is so excited and open to learning from Cole. To bad it has to wait till next summer. We would have had one hell of a rotation this yr had everyone stayed healthy or not gotten suspended. German would have been a hell of a 5th starter https://nypost.com/2020/05/30/luis-s...h-gerrit-cole/

I have no watched any NEWS in 2-3 weeks. I do not have time.

And 99.9% of all people would have no problem with me if they only knew me. I知 like your typical sports shock jock on the morning or afternoon drive with regards to this message board..... I love Chris Russo.

I wish I had the chance to listen to the Chris Russo of the early 90s. down here in Florida...I知 not a huge fan of Francesa but did watch and listen to his program when it was on YES after Russo left. I currently only pay for my Sirius radio for one reason, to hear Chris Russo.

And no I知 not much worse, more assumptions that are far from the truth.

The MLBPA delivered a proposal to MLB on Sunday afternoon, a source familiar with it tells ESPN. It includes 114-game season that would end October 31, the right to opt out of the season for all players and potential deferral of salaries if 2020 the postseason were canceled.

For the players opting out: those who are considered "high-risk" would receive salary, whereas others would receive service time only.

Further, players would receive $100 million total advance during the new spring training.

Also: MLBPA proposes two years of playoff expansion. The inclusion of potential deferrals by players is an olive branch, even if it does apply just to a canceled postseason.

It would defer $100M total, applied to players making $10M+ before proration, and would do so with interest to make players whole. It opens the door to more.

These greedy players are going to screw this up to the point the MLB will be the only league not playing this yr.

Baseball cannot afford to take a hit like that with the fans. If they aren't careful there may never be huge contracts to worry about because the loss in revenue will be tremendous.

Btw has anyone heard if the Yanks have started releasing MILB players like other teams. I know some other teams have cut some pretty high ceiling specs, let hope we dont have to and maybe we could sign some of these guys that have been released

It would be quite funny if mlb were replaced with the ncaa.

Aside from the players getting paid, what is the point of playing 114 games if they're not going to have a postseason? That's asinine.

I agree. I suspect it's all about money and less about the game and the fans. This may be fatal for BB.

It's a mess and the players are to blame.

    This isn't rocket science.
Spring training for the rest of June.
    Opening day July 1
25 games in each of July, august and September for a total of 75 games.
Then a post season in October..

I kind of hope it is.
They need a reset for the league.
And a reset for the players' egos.

i am all for cancelling the season but if they have to play 80 games will do.. the idea of playing the regular season to october 31 is absurd...
