If they arent moving Middleton, they would have to move Bledsoe, Donte, and a few other fillers along with picks. I dont think that would help them get any further in the playoffs than what they did this year.

One interesting possibility (not that I would do it, but seems like we may be going in this direction).

We sign FVV to a deal between $20-23M per for 3 or 4 years.

Then, we trade Payton, Portis, Knox and hopefully DSJ (but maybe Frank), and maybe a future second or two.

Then we're looking at a lineup of:

    CP3 / Frank
    FVV / Bullock
    RJ / Vassell
    Randle / Knox
    Mitch / Taj / Wooten

That's definitely an Eastern conference playoff team, maybe in the 5-8 range. We could also look to move Randle and pick up a stretch 4 somehow.

Would have to be some serious moves to make any sense. Like a reasonably young all-star level player magically appearing

I think hes perfect there personally. Hes a finisher something theyve struggled to do. I think they win the East rather easily with Paul over Bledsoe personally

    ouch, 70m invested in FVV & cp3?

we gotta draft a PG, even if we're getting CP3.

and really Randle has to be in the trade, still saves OKC a ton. Randle & Knox and 27 if need be, dont want to do it, but it seems we are.

    CP3
    Cole?/Frank
    RJ
    Gallo?
    Mitch

Maybe RJ becomes an all star level player lol Id assume they will look at Embiid with Paul. Not that I agree with that. You need to add shooters with that roster. If you can somehow sign Beasley or harris with Paul and Embiid (very tough to do) Id be kinda excited I think

The Knicks are expected to offer Fred VanVleet a deal worth over $22 Million per year this offseason

Now I wonder why the Knicks would be after both CP and FVV?

i've been anti FVV, but I rather pay him $22m then trade assets for CP3.
