What free agents do the Packers target in Free Agency?

It was pretty clear all season that WR was the weakest position on the field this year. Who do you think they target?

Im thinking they bring back Randall Cobb on a team friendly deal and target Robby Anderson

Im just worried about Greens health at this point. You know he will be demanding 10+ Million per year Im sure as well.

Yeah but I like the fact he saw a foot specialist there in Green Bay so Im sure the packers can find out the medicals on that. When healthy hes worth the money. I probably would try to make the contract based more of incentives.

But with that being said, this draft class is heavily loaded with talented wrs so I wouldnt be surprised if we went that route.

I dont have a list of names and its early to be able to know whos actually available or not. Beyond wr, which has been talked about to death, we need upgrades on both lines and we need a legitimate starting corner. King is fine as the #3 but he cant be top 2. Some athleticism at MLB would be huge as well.

I think Packers sign 1-2 receivers and Draft one in the first or second round. I think the next biggest need is MLB after that Id focus on the defensive ends. Offensive line could use an upgrade, but I think the other 3 positions are top priority.

just looking at a preliminary free agent list, I don't know if the Packers will dip into FA for a WR. Amari Cooper is the top name and I highly doubt the Packers will be in on him. Robby Anderson maybe but, I think with the lack of names he is going to get overpaid. Green is 32 and Sanders is 33 and both have had some injuries don't know if they would be worth it. Nelson Agholor ehh i don't know has had some injury problems.

Yea, coop is gonna get a huge deal from someone, can't imagine it's us. I have a feeling green stays in cinci. Weapon for Burrow, name to sell tickets, and he's said he likes it there. So that leaves sanders and Anderson. I don't know that we'll be in on those guys but maybe. Like you said, Anderson in particular seems like a candidate to get overpaid. I still think some vet cut candidate and a rookie in the 1st or 2nd is the most likely route. I've said a few times that the bears are almost certainly cutting Gabriel, since their cap situation isn't great, so I think a guy liek Gabriel on the cheap with lazard, adams and a rookie isn't an awful room.

As a whole, I think a decent offseason could look something like this.

    Cut Graham.

Bring back Bulaga, veldeer, Lewis and maybe Goodson and Ervin. (Goodson isn't a starter but he's a rotational run stopper to complement others).

Sign either Littleton or Schobert. Sign Michael peirce or a Michael peirce run stopping DL type of guy. Sign a Cobb, Gabriel, or Phillip Dorsett type wr.

Draft an ilb in the first (Murray, Queen ect). Draft wr in the 2nd (and possibly 3rd).

Money permitting, consider bringing back tramon or another veteran slot corner for relatively cheap.

That framework is roughly what I'd be realistically hoping for. There's probably a Clark extension in there somewhere too. Im not great at estimating contracts, but I think this is relatively feasible.

    Joe Schobert or we riot.

    Derek wolfe at DE.
Hunter Henry or Ebron at TE are names to watch.
Agholor had a case of the drops this year but he can be a playmaker. Could see a buy low.
Re-sign Bulaga get some OL depth are possibilities but I would expect depth through draft.

Go wild on offense in the draft.

The interesting thing about the ilb market is that the top 2 guys, schobert and littleton both grade out much better vs the pass than the run. Normally id be cool with that, but seeing how the season ended that could be trouble.

Idk about you guys but we should trade for Ertz since Philly already has Goedert. Both SB teams have elite TEs and always seem to come clutch when it matters most. If we can trade for Ertz and sign a #2 WR and draft 1-2 WRs early then we become a scary team again. We need to go all out these next 3-5 years!

I'd see what Austin Hooper wants before I overpay Robby Anderson. I like Anderson but after the contract Humphries got last year I'd imagine Anderson will get overpaid.

Cobb was on a 1 year 5mil contract this year I wonder what he would take. For that price I would definitely be interested in bringing him back.

I just don't see us going deep into the TE market. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think we use one enough to spemd big money on. We have to go cheap at some spots (as all teams do) and TE just makes sense to me. Bring back Lewis, who at the worst is a really good run blocker and a guy who can play a decent amount of snaps and hope sternberger or tonyan can be an adequate pass catcher.

Crew, what do you think about OJ Howard? IMO he is in the dog house in Tampa: he is entering his 4th year with an option for year 5. very affordable contract. Tampa rejected a high trade offer (rumored) from the Pats.
