You release those 5 guys you save $42 million in cap and now have $37 million in cap space. A few of those I could see getting a restructure, like maybe Reiff. I think Reiff would look better with a better LG beside him.

Then you talk about extending Kirk...can Kirk lead us. I'm not sure he can to be honest. I wouldn't do it.
Please god no we should not be extending Kirk Cousins!!

A lot of arguments can be made both ways and I've flip flopped on them so what I say today might not be the same tomorrow lol.

I'm not 100% against signing him but you wait until after the draft and it should only be like a 2-3 year deal which I'm not sure he would do. I think when you sit back and look at some of the top QBs and they are special. They can still play well when things don't go as planned. Kirk is safe, we can win 9-11 games with him but can he get you that ship? Yes he can but everything else needs to be on point. Go get a guy that has a high ceiling, let him sit behind Kirk then roll from there.

i really don't see how it can't be. I'm not a pot smoked, never have been, but the fact it's still banned and illegal in some states is ridiculous.

The more I read about Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina the more I like him. He has the potential to be a stud. Doubt he makes it to 25, though.

I'd resign him. He had a great year and was the reason we got to where we did. He wasnt the reason we lost against the 49er's. The common denominator of Viking meltdowns these last 5 years is Zimmer himself. Not our first playoff blowout on his watch.

The guy is a statue in the pocket and doesnít see the field when the pressure is on. Did you see how many wide open receivers he missed against San Fran? He wasnít the only reason we lost but he was a big part of it. He doesnít elevate his team and needs perfect conditions around him to succeed. If we couldnít run the ball effectively this year, we lost. Plain and simple. If you want to even think about winning a superbowl with Kirk Cousins (saying that just makes me laugh), you need an elite offensive line with a strong running game and a top 10 defense just to have a chance. What this team needs is a young mobile QB that elevates his team and makes people around him better.

I agree that a mobile qb would help but Cousins was the reason we got where we did. The last time cook ran over a 100 was October 20th against Detroit. No matter the roster, its Zimmer who fails.

You definitely have a point about Zim and that very well could play a big factor. He wants to play that old school style of smash mouth football, but itís very hard to succeed in todayís NFL doing that because you need an elite offensive line. I watch a lot of football and there are not many NFL teams that have elite offensive lines. You have your rare teams like the Titans who are loaded up front (ask them how happy they are they signed Roger Saffold, and look how that crippled the rams) and can give their running back 35 carries a game and win, but thatís an outlier. In todayís NFL you need a guy that can either run for a first down on 3rd and 8, but more so you need a guy that can move around in the pocket and buy time with his legs to make a throw downfield.

YES!! I'd be happy to trade up a few picks for him if we had to.

Kinlaw could be the piece we're missing on the DL. I watched him against Bama and that dude is a like spring off the ball. Bama was having a tough time with him. I'm eager to see how he tests at the combine. Patterson working with this kid could unlock a future pro bowler.
