i read one yesterday that made no sense the vikes trading cousins and their first 3 picks to the texans for their qb. cousins would leave like 65 mill in dead money plus the first three picks.

Most reports I see on twitter suggest nothing is happening with the Vikings and OBJ. Extremely unlikely anything happens.

If we still need a deep threat after the draft is over I think we should take a look at Ted Ginn for the vet minimum. He'll be 35 next year but his speed is still there.

Friend of a friend who works pretty close with the team on contracts, I donít know him and take it for what itís worth, but he was dead on a few times but IDK[emoji2371]

    He said Vikings are offering

ďIím hearing our contract offer to Mr. Cook is gonna be a 4 year 49.5 million deal, sorry that is all I can divulgeĒ.

If thatís true, that to me is still too high, I donít care what the Panthers gave McCaffrey. The idea of giving big contracts to RBís is dumb. Look at the set of running backs that was in the last Super Bowl, a bunch of nobodies that got the job done. My point is RBís are a dime a dozen and some excel better than others, and a mediocre RB can look and play really well if you have a good OL.

Thanks guys take this how you want, I myself am skeptical but thought Iíd share.

4/49.5 isn't horrible, depending on how it's structured...after all, it's the guaranteed money that counts

What are we expecting Cook would sign for? He has zero reason to be saying sure, 8mil/yr is enough
He's not had his big payday yet and he may only get the one.
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

The way offenses have evolved in the NFL in regards to the passing game, I wouldn't be comfortable giving Cook any more than 4/$32M, especially considering his injury history. He's a very good player but you can find quality RB's in the 3rd-4th rounds on Rookie deals that don't east up a lot of cap space.

It's not happening. Vikings and Browns beat writers, the Browns chief strategy officer, and a few national reporters have shot this down.

Look at from the standpoint of the data that accompanied this....that the compensation was to be two 2021 picks. Why would the Browns make this trade while getting zero immediate compensation? Answer? They wouldn't.

Look at another. This rumor originated from a NY beat writer. How on Earth would he be the first to hear of it? Answer? He wouldn't.

Well the fact a NY writer broke it does make sense considering OBJ began his career there so Iím sure this guy still has connections with his camp. There may be some truth to it but I would guess if there was any talks it was just a casual conversation and not anything legit. None of the trade compensation makes any sense like you said. Only getting a 2nd as the main return is really light. Even with his personality issues he is still worth a first at least. Plus, it wouldnít make much sense for the Vikings cap wise when they havenít even made a move with Harris yet. If we make any trades Trent Williams is the most likely move.

Hey Diggs even said "there is some truth to all rumors". I think there is some truth to this as well but likely exploratory discussions.

The only thing that made me wonder was that the picks were for next year as well. There isn't a lot of risk in making the move because he literally would have zero dead money after this year. So we could trade/release with no issue.

Also, Colin Cowherd confirmed that there is truth to these rumors as well. Same source that told him TB was going to Tampa. Now he isn't necessarily saying it will happen but that OBJ wants out of Cleveland because it does not fit his brand.

Colin also mentioned that OBJ wasn't an issue at LSU and wasn't an issue in NY until Coughlin left. Said the Vikings would be a great fit because winning culture, great FO, tough Head Coach, and a QB that can get him the ball.

I believe there is truth to this, he might not be a viking but he is getting traded. Every rumor has truth to it .
