I'm surprised they offered him an extension.

I guess anything can change, but I don't think anyone thinks Davis is going elsewhere.

January 7th was just the first day he could officially be offered an extension. That max deal is 4 years for $146 million. If he waits until free agency, his new contract will be 5 years for $202 million. So just by virtue of waiting 5 months, he'll get another year on his deal and $56 million more. I'm sure today was entirely procedural, knowing his extension will get done the first 2 minutes of free agency.

If AD does leave and that is a very very big if, I think AD goes home to play for the Chicago Bulls since AD is from Chicago and he even said himself he wants to play there one day. I mean Kawhi went back home to LA so if he could do that, imagine if AD goes home to Chicago? Stranger things have happened

But if AD does leave, teams I could see him going to

New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, LA Clippers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat or believe it or not the Toronto Raptors because it could happen
