Honestly, hires like this show that Gettleman just wants a puppet.

Stefanski, Saleh, or Bienemy would have probably been better candidates.

I won't say it was a bad hire but wow, this has a good chance to be disastrous.
The Baker has come. Believe the hype.

He's spent 8 years 'being mentored' by BB they say.....well, if so, why has he been there 8 years and never made it to the coordinator level? ...and now he's gonna jump straight to HC?

Have there been successful HCs that were never coordinators first?

Giants were requesting Garrett to be HC, not OC.
He was one of the names they wanted. But this Judge guy was about to accept a job at his old college as a head coach, so the Giants had to act fast.

'cause making decisions quickly and under duress is the way to success

now, maybe the guy will be a great HC, I have no idea.....just seems a large stretch to me...not once did I ever see his name mentioned as an option then boom, he's hired

On a side subject here, tho.....,,in their seeming rush sometimes to get a HC hired, are teams shorting coordinators whose teams are still playing in their searches? Should the league put a moratorium on hires until after the Super Bowl?
