I remember rumors that Jason Spriggs was the guy we were targeting in a trade down the year we drafted CODY WHITEHAIR but the packers jumped us for him. Im fine with him. Very Similar IMO to Ifedi..... Maybe he can get better. Maybe not. Its gotta be a cheap deal. The only real issue i have is that why wasnt he signed last year. I dont recall him being on IR.... if that is the case it makes some sense.

Definitely didn't expect that. Creates $7.5M in dead cap with just $1M in savings. Doesn't make any sense TBH.

I'm guessing they'll reach on a TE now. Ugh.

EDIT: the OTC & Yates tweet clears this up.

Would much rather go that route over wasting an early pick on one in this draft.

Some really odd roster management from Pace this offseason.

I know some people are not on board with this but Im fine with it. Burton was gone after a year anyway. take a look at Shaheen...... maybe a late round guy and the young guys we have and try to find somebody long term. WE already have our starter in Jimmy G. I tend to agree that I dont want to blow a high pick on a guy.... But while some dont love this class I think there are plenty of guys who will slip to later in the draft.

I would be really happy with Howard prior to the Jimmy G signing. but now.... I just would have not signed Jimmy G if we had a realistic chance at OJ. Probably cost us a 2nd.... and we have other needs.

Now if its OJ vs any of these TES in the 2nd. sure go OJ. But I think you kinda comited to Jimmy G.

Didnít really commit to Jimmy itís a one year deal and heís most likely gone . More comfortable with Jimmy being a TE2 than forced 1

Its money you could have spent elsewhere if you were serious about getting Howard. I mean if we got howard are we really keeping him off the field for Jimmy G? Probably not. So you just paid Jimmy G 9 mil guarunteed to be a backup?
