This. I think a lot of Miller's perceived attitude problems come from Mitch zeroing in on ARob literally all game long and not catching him when he was open. Miller was known as a team leader at Memphis.

I saw it on the news a couple of days ago.

There was an audit done and it was uncovered.

There's the Favre story, in case anyone wants to read about it. I hadn't heard about either. Pretty ****** of him to accept that money.

More PFF on Trubisky being bad:

Weíve written a lot about Trubisky in the last year, making it clear we donít think he should be a long-term starting quarterback on any NFL roster. This hasnít changed, as Trubisky still struggles with accuracy, decision-making and reading defenses. This shows in his grading profile, as he has the third-highest rate of negatively graded plays since coming into the league, but he also doesnít make up for it with positively graded plays, as he ranks only 26th of 35 qualifying quarterbacks in positively graded play rate over that time.

Consequently, no active quarterback who has played at least 700 dropbacks since 2017 has a worse delta between positively and negatively graded plays, and no projected starting quarterback for 2020 has a worse passing grade over the last two years.

He had some success in 2018 when he generated 0.120 expected points added (EPA) per play in the Matt Nagy-led Chicago Bears offense, but hiding a quarterbackís deficiencies over a longer time than one season seems to be a tough task for any offensive coach. For the future, Trubisky projects in a backup role behind an established starter. The rushing ability he showcased in 2018 gives him a reasonable floor if he has to replace an injured quarterback for a short time, especially since teams wouldnít be prepared for it, as they were in 2019.

I really dislike PFF grading when it comes QBs in general. Itís a very flawed system , because they would have Trubisky thru week 11-16 playing like a top 15 QB and then post stuff like this . Example

    https://twitter.com/pff/status/1203113650724253696?s=21

They give you negative points for forcing into tight windows .

They are much better looking at players who are one on one players

Mitch was bad last season even in DVOA ( better QB outlook ) rankings he was 29th

    2018

    Mitch ranked 17th

Mitch finished worse than Jameis Winston last year, I don't think Mitch's low grades have that much to do with forcing tight throws, if anything, probably the opposite.

Anyway, Mitch wasn't really good weeks 11-16. He was good week 10 (vs DET), 13 (vs Detroit), and 14 (vs Cowboys). Every other week in that time frame he failed to surpass a 70 QB rating.

PFF has written about his week 12-14 span, for which they did grade him well (so that's not even counting the week 10 game). See from the following article:

His 78.8 grade over that span is solid and would be great to see over an entire season, but thatís kind of the point. This is his high end.
    https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-mitchel...e-bortles-2019

Anyway, I'm not here to say PFF doesn't have its flaws, but I wouldn't say I think DVOA is necessarily all that better, which as I understand, basically just grades based on an adjusted system (that is, context-dependent, I.E. a 3 yard run for a first down > 3 yard run on 2nd and 15) of how many yards more per attempt a quarterback creates than others on a given play and aggregates it all. My problem with that kind of statistic is the same as any normal stat (I.E. passing yards), that is, it can be highly influenced by coaching, luck, and the rest of the team surrounding the player. At least PFF attempts to isolate things down to only things a player controls.

I think the 2019 version of Mitch is much more the real version than 2018.

But 2019 Mitch was injured and the supporting overall was preforming worse than what 2018 had . Only member of the 2018 cast that was better was Robinson other than the the O line , run game , WRís were top 5 in drops and play calling along with Mitch was worse. So could you say that so confidently ? If we held up to 2018 or remotely close and he still performed this way I would agree but itís just really odd occurrence last year that I donít think thatís true. Mitch is def in between 2018 and 2019 most likely unless he improves his progression and footwork that effects his throwing

I would say it confidently, yes. I don't think what happened last year was an odd occurance. He padded his 2018 stats in a few performances against lousy, lousy teams and defenses, but otherwise performed more or less the same. I've already referenced his game by game performances against sub .500 teams and over .500 teams. He's uncannily bad against every team that has a competent defense.

PFF has written about it as well. The only difference, as I see it, is that our schedule was weaker in 2018 and our defense was winning us more games. Mitch was never really put in a position where he had to put the team on his shoulder. Coming into the 2019 season, Tramon Williams said it best after week 1: they knew all they had to do is make Mitch play QB. I'm sure so did other teams, and I'm sure it played a big part of the entire offense's regression (that's not to say all of it was on Mitch).

I don't think the people at PFF are stupid either. I don't think they have a perfect tool, but I think it's as good and unbiased a tool as there is out there at isolated measurements of performance, and when they write about Mitch, I generally see everything they bring up in him.
