    I absolutely think they did.

I also agree that his ego normally gets in the way but you never know with Bill.

This may be something we have to keep an eye on.
If the season proceeds as planned, I'd imagine the Jets may have to deal with this reality coming to them as well.

Pats also have about $100M for free agency next year
They’re top 1-3 in cap space

I don't think their bad enough to get to #1, unless they want to trade their draft away.

    I tend to agree.
However, If Bill can eat his ego for a year, hope Brady falls short and comes back with Lawrence and 5 top shelf FAs and wins another couple rings? It would be brilliant.

If the Cap is at 175M, which has been rumored, they would have 50+M.
    That's the problem.

Remember the outrage when Revis went to the pats.

Maybe not as bad, as the pats have changed drastically, but if they should be better than expected, listen out.

Whatever it is, they’ll have near the most to spend
    And $175 is the floor

Speaking of Cap availability, CJ just opted out. That's a huge defensive hit. Huge FA signing so far for 2 years we get a single half out of him. We never get a break.

There's an opt out after next year.
He will get 51 mil for playing a season.

I don't blame any player for opting out, especially if they have health issues or close family with health issues.

    But damn it's a bummer.
Well, Cashman gets another shot and hopefully Williamson can play

I believe that’s how it works
I think it’ll also give us salary relief next year as certain items will count against this year’s cap that won’t count against next year’s cap (like roster bonus, workout bonus, $150K base salary)

Mosley didn’t really play last year either, so there’s that. Hopefully other guys like Cashman, Williamson, Davis, Williams and McDougald step up to keep the D respectable. I trust the DC to work with what he has. Also, hopefully CB play is better this year.
