My picture is perfect in this scenario. Trade the younger and cheaper SS for the older and more expensive short stop. With the younger pitcher(who is more expensive now) but in a year or two will be cheaper. Yikes.

I'm just gonna type this for future trade possibilities by anyone. The Yankees have 4 untradeable players in 2020:

    1- Gerrit Cole (duh)
    2- Aaron Judge
    3- Gleyber Torres
    4- Gary Sanchez (for now)

Add Jasson Dominguez to that and you pretty much have my list with others like Severino that I probably wouldn't part with either.

Some of these trade ideas border on the ridiculous. For instance, I wouldn't trade Torres even up for Lindor given their ages and salaries.

    How about NO!

Lindor will be a $30 million player.

Then add Judge and Torres soon.

Lindor, Cole, Judge, Torres and Stanton making around $160 million per?

The dumbest move this offseason was signing Gardy and letting Didi walk.

We had our SS for the next 4-5 years.

Lindor’s OBA has been declining every year now while his power has increased. If we didn’t have that albatross Stanton then yes I’d be in favor.

Why do the Yankee brass only give Didi a half a season to prove his health and production?

    Didi will rebound in 2020!

Nicky good to see you are OK. I was a day away from sending out the PSD search and rescue team!

Now, back to BB. Please don't conflate Gardy signing and Didi walking. Imo they are unrelated. They spent $324M on Cole, I feel confident if they wanted Didi back they could have found the money in the seat cushions in Hals office. Again, imo they had a lower cost and younger alternative in Torres. It shouldn't come as a surprise, the handwriting was on the wall. I had been suggesting the inevitability for over a year.

I agree with your assessment and additions. Although if a top shelf catcher was available I would move Sanchez faster than a hooker in sneakers. Also share your belief in Torres, I have confidence his glove will play at SS, I don;t think anyone would question his bat.

lindor is a 288 lifetime hitter over 40 doubles 30 home runs each last 3 years is a premier defensive ss.. while didi ss metrics have decreased.. lindor is light years a better hitter and ss to didi.. didi would cost the yanks 15 million lindor is more than twice the player didi is...

You're comparing a small sample size of Torres to Lindor? I don't know if you watched Gleyber this past season, but I wouldn't do that trade straight up if you had all the hoes attached to him. Not to mention the contract Lindor is getting, while Gleyber is under team control.

I'll be that guy and say that when their careers are done, Gleyber > Lindor

    Mush, just to clarify.....

We did NOT let Didi walk BECAUSE we signed Gardy. Idk if that's where you're getting at but that's what some make it seem like.

Didi's writing was on the wall. I loved him, and really wish we could have kept him, but Torres will make that pill easy to swallow (that's what she said) but I can almost guarantee you that if it wasn't for Hicks going down, Gardy is most likely taking the walk also.

yes i watch almost every inning of every yankee game.. in a so call down year lindor stats were better then gleyber the year before lindor had a 7.9 war i bet gleyber in his entire career never had a war that high....i still take lindor overall offense and defense over gleyber...

Even if salaries were dead even I'd take Gleyber over him due to how young he is.
