I think Tannehill is just in the right spot to succeed. the one actual thing he has in his toolbox is the deep ball and it works well with Henry and AJ Brown. that said he hasn't had to do anything in the playoffs and only made 1 play against the Ravens and still won. Tannehill has never played good with us and is probably cracking top 15 right now

Tannehill hasn't broken 100 yards in either playoff game so he 100% isn't having to do too much yet that's for sure. He just wasn't a fit for us and it was for sure time to move on.

Dolphins quality control coach Matt Lombardi is leaving for a promotion with the Carolina Panthers, as @FootballScoop reported.

Just a quality control coach so not someone major, but just another coach leaving.

For a team that won as few as we did to have this many coaches leave for promotions else where is a good sign IMO.

Tannehill was just named Comeback player of the Year and Most Improved Player. Add this to the Cameron Wolfe story where he mentions that Tannehill on the final drive last year told the huddle "it's been an honor to be your QB". I cant imagine not being happy for the guy after this turnaround.

That said itll be tough hearing weeks after weeks of stories about how stupid Miami was for trading him.

Pretty much no one is saying miami is stupid for trading him because he was a scrub in miami, and because everyone knows that Henry is the reason for titans success.

I said it before and ill say it again, tannehill is basically goff, they only look good when they have a top level nfl run game. Without it, they are nobodies.

    Long, Long time reader!
I am tired of hearing this narrative about Tannehill!
Here are some stats for you sir.

Derrick Henry avg 3.6 yards a carry before Tannehill (titans 2-4 record)
Derrick Henry has 12 career 100 yard games and 7 are behind Tannehill!(titans 7-3)
Tannehill is the ONLY QB to have a QBR of 130 or greater in 6 games in one season and he did it in 10 starts!!
Its not all Tannehill, its not all Henry, Its not all the Oline!! IT IS the entire team working well together on offense.

Oline is def big, big henry is a special talent and a top level nfl running back this year the same as ajayi was when tannehill had his only good season in miami.

Miami fans have a short memory and seem to forget tannehill was the worst rated nfl qb in the bfk before ajayi became the starter in 2016.

Tannehill is scrub without a domonating run game.

Henry didnít start dominating till Tannehill took over, itís NOT a coincidence. Henry avg below 5 yards a carry until this year, had barely 1000 yards last year and the 2 years before that didnít sniff 1000 yards.

Derrick Henry dominated the last 4 games of 2018 with 585 rushing yards and 7 rushing tds.

The constants here is Titans o line and Derrick Henry.

Tannehill is a game manager and is at his best with a good o line, solid run game, and passing attempts under 25ish. Why does the low passing attempts matter? Because he is a game manager and with a solid run game he can flourish at just that. But he isn't a a qb who you can ride to a championship. I'm happy he's having success. He's made himself quite a bit more $ for himself and if the Titans want to screw their future up and franchise tag him or give him a multi year deal at over $20 mil a year then go for it. I'd take Tannehill all day on his rookie deal as a game manager because you can surround him with talent based on his price tag. Not so much anymore.

Tannehill is in the Mariota/Flacco/Dalton/Carr/Goff category as you must surround them with a lot of talent for them to have success.

    No thanks

Oh, Iím not saying Tannehill is the best or even top 10. He did however have a great year and did way more than manage the regular season. Just give credit where credit is due and stop saying heís a scrub.
Obviously heís better than Mariota who is on the bench!!
One more time. Henry 12 100 yard games in CAREER, with SEVEN of those behind Tannehill. Tannehill plays a bigger role than you think.
Who does Ajayi play for now? Maybe it was more Tannehill that year than most butt hurt Phin fans want to give credit for 🤷🏻*♂️

Yes, 7 of 12 of his 100 yard rushing games are with Tannehill. That's my point lol. Without a dang good run game Tannehill won't have success.
He's thrown for 72 yards and 88 yards in the 2 playoff games so far this year.

Tannehill's role is to not lose the game aka game manager.

Wrong again. Itís the playoffs and you shorten the game. They had a 14 point lead thanks to Tannehill, not Henry and then they ran the ball like any SMART team would!
Tannehill is a part of the run game. His play action prowess and passing makes the D think twice and play on their heals! It goes hand in hand the team feeds off each other. Maybe you should watch more of the titans games than the last 2? Lamar had 350 passing and 120 rushing, how many points did they score?
Whoís fault was it that Henry averaged 3.6 yards with 1 100 yard game the first 6 games then? The line? Henry? Mariota?
The titans would not be in the playoffs if Tannehill didnít take over at QB and play well, fact!

Henry is the reason theyve won in the playoffs. But Tannehill is the reason they got there.

I really didnt expect another massive Tannehill argument to happen in 2020 but here we are.

Theres a lot of qbs you could replace tannehill with and get the same results.

Theres literally no one you can replace henry with.
