I'm not defending the Astros, I'm more of less over the internet sleuthing and the hot takes.
    I'm not saying it definitive..
Just sorta saying the plot continues with this

    Hendricks - 4.1 fWAR
    Q - 3.5 fWAR
    Lester - 2.8 fWAR
    Darvish - 2.6 fWAR

The production last year we got from them was pretty darn good. It goes beyond the names. I think the only one whose age poses a problem would be Lester, but I just don't know how much more he'll decline. He's already shown he's a pretty capable low-end MORP even throwing in the 80s.

Hendricks will be fine. Hopefully we get the Darvish of the last three months of 2019. Lester is only one year removed from a pretty good season. Quintana will likely disappoint.

Need to factor in the juiced ball too. Cubs still had 3rd best ERA in NL last year.

Lester had a 3.72 ERA before all-star break, 5.35 ERA after. He had a 4.33 ERA in 2017 and 3.32 ERA in 2018. He could bounce back a bit in 2020, who knows. Same with Q.

Thereís been speculation about this since Chorinos got busted on camera during the 2019 WS. The buzzing device was attached to his bat with tape and it fell off during his plate appearance.

Reportedly the Astros were taping them to their bodies, taping them to their bats, keeping them deep in their pants pockets and even within their cleats of their baseball spikes.

One buzz for fastball...Two buzzes for offspeed.

But I'm saying I don't even think the plot continues. That's just some guy taking some video and attributing it as evidence despite it being conjecture.

It's just that. Nothing but some dude making up HIS mind.

I'm just over the whole thing, personally. I honestly don't care. The league has already said they can't find anything definitive. It's going to end there. Maybe they had buzzers. Maybe they didn't. Whatever. On to 2020, for me, at least.

I hope Manfred re-evaluates the penalties he gives the Astros and it isnít over just because he has already handed down his ruling. The punishment doesnít fit the crime in this situation.

Caesars Sportsbooks projects the Cubs to have the 6th most wins in the NL @ 86 wins.

Only the Dodgers (99), Braves (92), Nationals (89.5), Cardinals (88.5) and Mets (86.5) are projected to have more wins.

I know it doesnít mean much, but take it FWIW

I donít even care if the Cubs make another move, I just wanna see some baseball and wanna see Rossí managerial style. As I said last year, and I know many disagreed, but I think this team has loads of talent and the manager is the one tasked with getting the most out of his players. Will Ross be able to get more than Joe? We shall see...

Right? I just posted a couple days ago that they are posturing, and that they need him very much. I think he ends up there, and that we get a nice return.

I'm on the other side on this one.

I relish the armchair sleuths; they've put murderers in jail, got innocent people released - thousands/millions of manpower hours on reddit of free research is a good, not bad thing - to me. All this guy's doing, and all any of them are doing, are presenting information. It's up to the viewer to decide if it's sufficient for them to make up their mind or not.

In this case, I think it's more than sufficient. I'm disgusted by Manfred rolling over to the MLBPA on this. I really, really hope there's more to come, because with the gingerly applied slap on the wrist he's so far brought down, he's essentially made a mockery of the game.

If it were me I'd want lifetime bans for literally everyone involved. Go to war with the association, I don't give a ****. This is a disgrace.

Between Quintana and Lester you've probably got a low end 3 and a high end 4 type in both. Neither are good, neither are bad. Alec Mills/Tyler Chatwood/Adbert Alzolay can hold down a 5 spot between them for half a year. If you're in contention, you can easily nail down a SP for fairly cheap.

Bullpen is a lot more iffy. But with a team who gave a **** this offseason, it didn't have to. Kimbrel is a questionmark but I don't think he's done. Rowan Wick is good. Kyle Ryan is good. There's enough interesting secondary arms on the team that they'll find a few pitchers out of the Weick/Winkler/Adam/Tepera/Underwood who are probably good enough as 6th/7th inning guys. With a little money, you could have added an arm in there, and honestly, it's probably solid. And you've got a guy like Marquez who, especially bullpen-wise, is probably ready by July.

The team isn't that flawed. With spending some money on this team, there's a winner there. I don't think either are amazing. But both could range from better than average to good.
    Fantastic post
