    Mets resign Brach

The Mets have agreed to a one-year contract with right-handed reliever Brad Brach, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Friday afternoon. The club hasn't confirmed the deal, which is worth $850,000 in 2020 and includes a $1.25 million player option for '21, according to Feinsand.

The 33-year-old Brach, a native of Freehold, N.J., was signed by the Mets last August after being released by the Cubs. Brach, who posted a 3.68 ERA and struck out 9.2 batters per nine innings in 16 outings with the Mets, has a 3.33 career ERA spanning nine seasons and five teams.

Just give us the 2020 WS trophy now. With these bold moves (Brach and Marisnick) and the new manager and bench coach, we're the juggernaut.

    /sarcasm

P.S. I don't totally hate the Marisnick trade. I do see value in him for late inning defensive replacement but I get the feeling that BVW and Wilpons are done for the off season.

The Mets are in the process of filling out the 90s numbers for spring training uniforms.

The negative about Branch is that he is successful against righties but does not fare well against lefties and next year there is a 3 batter rule going into effect.

. Hell he should have been GM of the year last year after that masterful fleecing of the Mariners 😂

Solid move. He's very good against RHB.

This is definitely a guy whose value could plummet with the 3 batter rule unless he shows he can get lefties out as well.

He was absolutely crushed by lefties in 2019. Thatís gonna have to change quickly/.

Certainly hope so. IMHO, neither the signing of Brach or Marisnick are inspiring moves. Small pieces.

Another great move. Brach was good with the Mets last season and heís coming back cheap with an option year as well? Thatís awesome. Even if struggles against lefties, overall heís still solid because he dominates righties.

Even with the 3 batter rule, Iím shocked he couldnít get more money. 5.3 WAR over the last 5 seasons.
