Not to steer too far off into politics but that would be awesome.
There’s way too many signs that the deal is done and has to get done. The wilpons need to sell and this is not only their best offer but the only legitimate one that would get passed by the owners. I refuse to buy into this deblasio bs.

Can DeBlasio stop the sale or just stop the Mets from playing in CitiField if the sale is approved by MLB? If so and considering there will likely be live fans in 2021 in the stands, can't they play in Brooklyn. Might be a good way to give the finger to the RedSox fan that DeBlasio is.
I really can't root for the Dodgers after what happened with Tejada, plus they just seem kind of douchy. Although I guess that's the same story with the '86 Mets..

From that article you tweeted. I can't see a circumstance where DeBlasio blocks the sale. He and the city would have a huge lawsuit on their hands. The City has no legal grounds to block the sale and the Mayor would also do well not to interfere with matters of federal law,” attorney and St. John’s University business law professor Anthony M. Sabino told the Daily News. “Whatever Cohen’s recent entanglements with the regulators were, those were purely federal matters with the Securities and Exchange Commission. No City laws were ever at issue, and the City has no jurisdiction over how Cohen’s firm conducted itself on Wall Street.”

Way to endear yourself to your workers.
Plus, deBlasio has officially signed off. Cohen also giving $17.5M to NYC small biz's, increasing role of Mets Foundation and making good on all employee's pre-Covid salaries. After decades of owners who were PR disasters, we're in business with someone who knows how to make an entrance, and then some.
