And if being first seed is all that PHX is looking at why wouldnt they have already extended Ayton?

Tbh I’m not even that interested in Ayton. I think he will get over paid in fee agency. And he doesn’t bring the defence I feel we need.
Turner would be such a better fit imo.
Only brought Ayton up because he will be a FA

The deeper I think about it, the more I feel ready to not have a starting C on this team. I don’t see rebounding or interior defence as a huge hole against most teams. If we are trying to make a run in the playoffs (don’t think we are), then this team would probably be better served with another ball handler.
I think I prefer to have the picks.
But you are one that believes in this core. I think Turner is our best case scenario at the 5 in terms of fit. And if we’re a good team those picks are going to be late first rounders anyways.
I’m not crazy about the idea of expending two first rounders for turner. But I don’t think a late first round pick in 2025 does much to help this core compete now or in the next 3 years:
If we were rebuilding and then yes keep the picks. But if you believe in this core then it’s something to consider.
Right now it looks like your prediction was right and we are climbing up. But that almost ensures that our pick goes 20+ and in 2025 I’m not sure that pick does much at all with this core. Keep in mind we keep the picks in years between so it’s not like we’d be starving for young talent.
My whole thing is if this is the core we’re going with and believe in then at some point we need to go all in.
I meant that in the sense that he would ask a trade because it puts the Sun in the worst position to succeed and they just lose Ayton outright by not signing him. So they have to do some work if they don't extend him. If they could get another player that helps then succeed then year it would buy the Suns more time with Paul.
How do you guys feel about LeVert? I think he would add some balance to the Raptors' offense.

“It’s about winning,” Stoudemire said. “You win, you’re going to get on national TV. Simple. In Phoenix, we won — Western Conference finals three, four years, playoffs every year. We won. If you don’t win, nobody really wants to see you.”
