wow Reddit finally figured out the Thad Young trade was garbage and it was primarily to duck the lux tax incase Gary hit his incentives. Only took them a year.

I don't think any of us here liked that trade at that time. It looks much worse now. It was miss for this front office. Let's hope they make it up for it at this deadline.

"fine print" was in reference to the heavily protected firsts, not the article that you read. I don't know what article you read. NY is heavily speculated by multiple credible outlets to be the team that offered 3 firsts. Most of their picks are heavily protected.

Like you said, three first round picks sounds nice but if theyre protected or theyre swaps, less nice

Now I understand you. Raps would have to look into it I suppose. I absolutely agree with you. Some of the protections get funny too, some lose the protection of not conveyed, some turn into seconds. If they could find ones that look like they won’t be conveyed now, but lose the protections later, thats what I’d be looking for. Or of course I would take some futures with less or no protection, especially from NY.
