FVV, agency switch. Maybe he wants someone to help ensure his bird rights go to a team that can both contend and pay him. Not sure an agent change can do that, but we’ll see.

Raptors getting more aggressive for Poeltl. Apparently hoping to use GTJ to a third team that then sends assets to SA.
They don't have a lot of clients (just FVV and Malik Beasley) and recently went through a scandal with Christian Dawkins and Andy Miller. He was critical of them during his last free agency. He probably feels he isn't getting the attention that he needs. I don't think it is a coincidence other teams are suddenly sending in a bunch of execs/scouts after switching agencies.

For people that are conspiracy minded, Klutch is advised by and employs Andy Miller who is a disgraced NBA sports agent and represents Nick Nurse. Andy Miller used to represent a lot of Raptors players (Lowry, Ibaka for example) and even helped Rob Babcock's nephew get a job at his agency so there is a history there. The reason why he represents coaches now is because there was a scandal a few years ago where agents were exposed for bribing family members, coaches, administrators and players. The only reason why Andy Miller didn't get jail time was because Dawkins didn't flip on him. Dawkins ended up doing the jail time.

If Fred is going to Klutch/Andy Miller it is going to raise a lot of eyebrows.

I've read comments on Reddit where people said that it is not a big deal if several players on your team is represented by one agency. I think that's a really bad take. A sports agent's sole incentive is $$$. Profit maximization means you're trying to get all your guys the biggest contracts that you can get. If you feel that they all deserve max contracts, you won't be able to achieve that if they're all on the same team.

If Gary, OG and Fred are all under the same agency, you best believe their agents are trying to get them off this team.

That's an interesting backstory. But I agree that one agency shouldn't be representing bunch of players on a single team. I see a lot of landmines in this and it certainly would work against the team. But there aren't any rules in the NBA to prevent this right? If lot of players pivot to one agency, you can't do much?

No rules. The agent is who they use to circumvent tampering. Dan Fegan was notorious for doing this. Look up his relationship with Mark Cuban and how many of his clients ended up in Dallas.

If Fred does sign with Klutch, then we know who is steering the ship. Remember, Fred is only with Parlay because Dawkins had a public falling out with Andy Miller and started Parlay after he left ASM. But from the FBI investigation, we know that they only did that to obfuscate their relationship and continued to stay in contact. Fred was also one of the players that was implicated in the scandal. Fred is a loyal guy, I would be shocked if his new agency isn't Klutch.

Also Haynes is the biggest Klutch mouthpiece. For a guy that mostly covers the Blazers, he seems to know a lot about the Raptors these days.

I think people underestimate how much influence agents have. Remember when all those stories came out about Chauncey randomly hitting up Lowry to talk? I know the media tried to make it a Raptors brotherhood thing, but no it was an Andy Miller thing. Chauncey is Andy's longest client. Andy knew Lowry wasn't going to get much in free agency if he kept acting like an idiot and knew he had leverage over Toronto because we gave up a first round pick for him.

LMFAO WHAT?! You want us to tie a FRP to GTJr (a guy we either want to keep or to net us a return of a FRP) for Davion Mitchell? wow... lol... wow...

It oddly looks like they’re switching to trading OG and keeping GTjr. I don’t think this is what they want to do ideally, but masai knows he needs to keep some talent around or siakam will walk next offseason.

On one hand I am hating all of this, and on the other hand I extremely excited for the tdl.

Grange is literally wrong all the time lol. He only releases what the front office wants leaked. It's misinformation. There's a reason why Grange was 100% sure about Suggs. We were trying to get Orlando to move up since they wanted Suggs and we wanted Barnes or Giddey. But Jeff Weltman worked in Toronto and worked for Masai for years. He knew what was up.

That's why the local media got so mad and kept *****ing about Barnes. They probably spent days writing some fluff piece about Suggs and it had to get scrapped. I know Sam Vecenie is a national media guy but it took him a year to get over it.

Same thing happened with Lowry. He was 100% convinced Lowry was going to be traded to Philly.

Ya pretty weak suggestion 😆. I should of thought about it more. I like Davion, but that was a over pay for sure after considering it further.

I think raps are a team that could unlock his potential though.

Been using this for the Jays, and it just dawned on me that the raptors probably have the same thing.

Proposed trade OG for the Lakers pick swap this year and young filler. I love the trade and would do it yesterday. I’d say our best case scenario is that pick.

1 pick swap and who’s the prospect?

We’re in 11th place in the east. Are we talking about this years pick? Do the lakers even own their own pick?

I would laugh at that trade offer. But I have a feeling I’m just misunderstanding the post

It would be New Orleans' first rounder, which is a pick swap with the Lakers this year, prospects and filler. For the right prospects, I could see a good trade out of this. Especially with that Lakers pick adding some extra ping pong balls.

Marc Stein said Fred is signing with Klutch.

Yeah the best of the NO and LAL picks + herb and Daniels for OG fees fair. I can see us coming out on top in that deal long term. The proposal from winhorst had another NO pick in it, but tbh I don’t think I would need it to accept.
