I’m saying the 2019 deadline deals should not be overlooked. No championship without those too. Kawhi dropped in Webster’s lap (he was in everyone’s laps only Webster had the balls to make it happen) but there was still a lot of work to be done.

You proceeded to say they were some of the worst trades in masai career, but I think you were confused about which deadline I was talking about.

    My bad.

He did fall into Webster's lap. It was literally a deal between Webster and his buddy Brian Wright. They worked it out between themselves before bringing it to their respective front offices. Spurs didn't talk to anyone else unless we were passing. That's why some execs said they were blindsided by the deal. We were also confident in Kawhi's health because Webster knew Brian wasn't bullshitting him.

To be clear I don't have issues with what he did in 2018. The point I was making is that Masai is naturally just really passive and needs a push. Like Melo demanding a trade, trying to maximize your 1 year window with Kawhi etc.

It sounds to me that Masai feels players like Flynn, Banton and Koloko could be further along if they had more opportunity.

I personally don’t see it. But MU knows more about his players. If they suddenly break out that would be great for the team. I just wonder how these guys are suppose to get more opportunities if the team is expected to make a run. May be the new coach won’t put much stock into winning at any cost and just focus on development?

I was ok with MU’s moves prior to T-Young trade. I didn’t know about Webster’s involvement with the DD trade at all until Ecart pointed it out. I still think raptors have a good management. But they have been complacent since the championship. Some of these moves have been questionable. There have been more misses than hits. This will be a big offseason and not confident about it.

Doesn't help that y'all still don't even have a coach in place. But even then this 13th overall pick y'all still haven't even decided if you are going to keep the pick and stay with the core or package it up with other players to try and move up in the Draft essentially means choosing to rebuild. So many decisions to make but just would have thought this front office might have figured it out by now.

They wanted a Raptors coach. Giannis liked AG and they were far away from Nurse on money from what I heard.
Not that it matters now but AG was interviewed. Masai confirmed it in a recent interview.

“It’s about winning,” Stoudemire said. “You win, you’re going to get on national TV. Simple. In Phoenix, we won — Western Conference finals three, four years, playoffs every year. We won. If you don’t win, nobody really wants to see you.”

interesting. im guessing it is the interview he did with lindsey a couple weeks ago. I was told he turned them down which is why the process went so quickly with the Bucks. maybe at the interview.

BC? The guy who just obsessed with euro players? I don’t see the comparison. Morey is much much better than BC ever was.
