prob ben, tj, maybe nembhard + filler and a pick. actually nvm, tj is older than I thought. so instead of maybe nembhard. ben + nembhard (or duarte) + filler and a pick.

ben is pretty good so asking for extras might be too greedy. if indiana protects their first then I'll be greedy. if they don't then ben + pick + salary filler is pretty damn good already.

"teach them how to win" lmfao. stop.

Look at our record. Raptors can't teach themselves let alone other teams.

If they were to consolidate, they have the assets to go for way higher end talent like Siakam. I don't think OG does it for them.

They're doing the whole positionless basketball thing better than us though. Even their small forward (Jalen Williams) who was drafted to be a low usage cutter/off ball guy can run the pick and roll.
OG is younger than Siakam and may work with their contending timeline? Also don't they have like 4 1st round picks in 2024? They got to be trading some of those? I know team isn't close to being a contender but they are getting there and they got to start getting some established players to form the core.

A lot of those picks are protected aka late firsts (even houston's turns into a second if it doesn't convey next season). Even contenders will rather get role players from the draft than constantly trying to find MLE guys or ring chasers. Also I think you have to consider that when guys are up for extensions, the only thing saving you from the lux tax is rookie scale contracts. OG doesn't move the needle enough for them to forego that flexibility.

It is OKC. They're not a free agent destination. Their owner is cheap af. Sam Presti is one of the best draft pickers in NBA history. I think picks are very valuable to their team building.

You’re talking mathirin? Yeah tbh that’s a good straight up swap imo. Masai was already willing to trade OG for him at the draft if rumors are true.

Mathurin + Duarte for OG works on the trade machine.

I doubt the Pacers give up Mathurin.

Ben is a ball dominant guard that isn't good off ball, doesn't play good defence and is somewhat of a black hole. The upside is there but there is a waiting period. OG is more of a natural and versatile fit next to Haliburton. OG maximizes whatever window of mediocrity they have planned with Turner and Hali.

Point is Ben isn't exactly a home run. I can see him being moved but prob my bias though.

OKC is cheap. So I don't doubt them keeping the team young and rely on getting stars internally.

tbh I don't think OKC gets that much better with OG. They're a pretty good versatile defensive team already especially on the perimeter. They need a pnr big and a rim protector.

when you consider their core, OG doesn't replace Giddey or Williams. He's more of a Dort replacement. But is OG picks + blue chip trade package + max contract better than Dort?

if I was them, I would rather just cheap out and send a protected first or low value first for someone like Jared Vanderbilt. instead of a semi-all in trade for og.

Btw I really hope the Raptors avoid Brooks in any trade scenario with Memphis. One of my least favorite players in the league.

He is talented though and plays with no fear. I like his mentality.

On another note, I agree with your take on OG, which is why I thought he would be a natural fit here. I guess he wants a bigger role but he hasn't really proven to be more than a 3 and D player with some in between mixed in. I guess I'm surprised he wants out if the rumors are true.

Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Dyson Daniels, 2023 first round pick and salary filler (Graham, Hayes, Lewis).

    For:

Fred Vanvleet, OG Anunoby and Malachi Flynn

    NOP:
    FVV/McCollum/Anunoby/Valanciunas/Williamson/Ingram/Alvarado/Temple/Nance

    TOR:
Daniels/Murphy/Jones/Barnes/Siakam/Achuiwa/Trent/Koloko/Banton and a couple first round picks as a new core.
Nah just give me Ingram for the same Package.

    Really? Why?

Tyus Jones and Brooks are players I actually like in a return for OG.

I don’t think the rumours are true personally.

You look at the talent on our team and then the standings and everyone is assuming that we will sell off. The general consensus is that Siakam won’t be traded. OG is the next best player on our team for a team that’s trying to win now. So no I don’t think the rumours about him wanting out are true. I think he is highly coveted and the rumours are flying as a result.

Ironically he’s the player I want to keep most right after Siakam.

He is a low IQ player who takes bad shots and can't shoot. Other than being an above average defender, I don't get why he gets a pass for his shot attempts.
