They also need more clarity on Giddey vs Williams (I personally think they've already made a decision). I'm not sure if Raptors like the fit with Giddey and Scottie but Giddey is very much available imo. He hasn't fit great with Shai. Williams has been a much more natural fit.

Raptor fans don't want to hear it but I honestly think Shai is fine. He got the contract he wanted. He sees them making progress and adding assets. His situation isn't as dire as Luka. Luka has been on a treadmill for years, with 0 progress and they're losing assets.
Giddey would be awesome. I think he fits the vision.

If the Pels really want to push all in, thoughts on this?

Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Dyson Daniels, 2023 first round pick and salary filler (Graham, Hayes, Lewis).

    For:

Fred Vanvleet, OG Anunoby and Malachi Flynn

    NOP:
    FVV/McCollum/Anunoby/Valanciunas/Williamson/Ingram/Alvarado/Temple/Nance

    TOR:
Daniels/Murphy/Jones/Barnes/Siakam/Achuiwa/Trent/Koloko/Banton and a couple first round picks as a new core.

Still hoping for Boucher, Fred and Trent for Westy and 2 picks.

Like the long term view on the picks eh? Could be valuable for sure. And I guess they are assets you could flip. I would be a bit disappointed if we had to wait 4-5 years to get the first asset in return for a big deal like this though…

Great way to clear cap though if there are some FA targets to covet

That would be the dream but I don't think they'll give you an extra first rounder. I also don't think they care for Fred. Pels can't afford to pay both OG and Fred max contracts. I think they get good relative value out of Alvarado vs Fred. Look at Jose's RAPM, it is third in the league last I checked. This isn't to say he is the third best player in the league but that he is a very important glue guy for them, just like when RAPM used to be Lowry's stat. I think Fred takes away from that and isn't worth the extra 30 something million. I also don't see Fred as a CJ replacement either .

I doubt they would pay that much too, but I really covet their young players. Much prefer to see a trade with them than teams like Lakers, Clippers, Suns, etc. I think there is a logic in trading for young controllable, promising players over picks. (Ie. The Powell/Trent swap)

This is interesting but I think I would try to get another 1st or som 2nds or whatever. A little sweetener and I’m in.

I think it depends. We're talking about Murphy but we could have traded Powell for a late first and gotten a player like that. Aaron Holiday was traded for 22. I'm sure a pick in that range wouldn't have been out of the question for Powell.

100% I see NO as our best option too. What I really want is that Lakers pick. Even if it’s in the teens I trust masai to come out with 2 good prospects if he has 2 picks in the top 20. This draft is deep.

If they were to consolidate, they have the assets to go for way higher end talent like Siakam. I don't think OG does it for them.

They're doing the whole positionless basketball thing better than us though. Even their small forward (Jalen Williams) who was drafted to be a low usage cutter/off ball guy can run the pick and roll.

Actually OG to the OKC Thunder I actually like that because it would be interesting given that OG is a veteran and he has won a chip...put him with those young guys in OKC he can teach them how to win but also he can be that veteran presence they need

it's a pick swap, not an extra pick. it's not that special. with how the pels season are going, their own pick might be worth more.

? I’m not suggesting we set up a 3way swap. I want the rights to their pick swap with the Lakers. That would be an additional pick along with ours.

I know. I just think a lot of teams that are interested in OG will finish in that range so I don't think there's anything unique about the Lakers swap. I don't think it is worth the premium.

The pacers interest in OG is intriguing. What would you ask for?
