im curious which teams are in the running for OG. I used to think Pels were a good partner but would they go all in after 1-10. There are the obvious ones like Phx, Portland, NY and Memphis. I wonder who else.

the only one that has a chance of conveying is Dallas and it is going to be garbage cause of Luka.

How about OKC if they can get another team involved for matching salaries? They can't be possibly using all their draft picks in the upcoming years.

Yeah, I think we're all looking at teams that intend to compete this year. However, what if a team has the cap room to ensure that O.G. is a part of their future without destroying their cap? I'm thinking a team like OKC or the Pacers who have assets to make the trade, and even if it doesn't put them into contention this year, it gives an improving team a major piece for the future that they may not be able to get on a fully open marker. Obviously, it's easier to hold onto a player when they're already on your team.

Really? You think the 15-37 Hornets are a realistic landing spot for OG?

I don't think they're in a rush. They're nowhere close to taking the next step. I also don't think the bolded is true. Rookie scale contracts are extremely valuable.

If they were to consolidate, they have the assets to go for way higher end talent like Siakam. I don't think OG does it for them.

They're doing the whole positionless basketball thing better than us though. Even their small forward (Jalen Williams) who was drafted to be a low usage cutter/off ball guy can run the pick and roll.

I would watch Dallas closely. Doncic has love for OG and they need to get him some help asap. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/video/m...mazing-player/

I think they will go for a bigger splash when the time is right because they have a gem in Shai and they will have to get him help sooner then later.

But you’re right, OG ain’t it

I think right now with Chet out, they still have a lot of unknowns to deal with. If Chet had played this season and projected to be a perennial all-star talent then I could see them being more comfortable cashing in some of their chips. If OKC had Paolo, I could see them being more aggressive.

They also need more clarity on Giddey vs Williams (I personally think they've already made a decision). I'm not sure if Raptors like the fit with Giddey and Scottie but Giddey is very much available imo. He hasn't fit great with Shai. Williams has been a much more natural fit.

Raptor fans don't want to hear it but I honestly think Shai is fine. He got the contract he wanted. He sees them making progress and adding assets. His situation isn't as dire as Luka. Luka has been on a treadmill for years, with 0 progress and they're losing assets.

Unfortunately they have nothing. They don't even have picks. Best you're going to get is Josh Green and a bunch of salary filler.

I hope the Ayton talk is just a smokescreen. I've never liked him. I've said before that the finals run overrated him but he is going to fall back down to earth when it comes to fan perception the next season.

That being said, is Ayton a bad return for Fred? I think it is garbage return for OG but I think I can live with Fred. His contract isn't even that bad considering Fred wants the same $$$.

I haven’t ever liked Ayton either. Watching Lowry pass/dribble between his legs 4 times a game, watching him get benched in the crunch time in the playoffs, seeing our smaller players play harder and tougher around the basket every time we play and watching him miss a transition layup over FVV last game; he always seems underwhelming to me. He has some tools and athleticism (obviously being drafted so high), but he doesn’t use his tools competitively enough. He has had some exceptional guards to help him get to his spots the past few years too

yeah, maybe he needs a change in scenery. but yeah I think bigs with no motor aren't good and are detrimental to your team even if they have all the tools in the world.

realistically it won't be a Fred swap, it would be an OG swap. but Ayton's name has come up more than once.

I hate this fanbase sometimes. Ignoring all the off the court stuff, nobody in Boston liked Ime until they made their playoff run. Then he got overrated af due to it. Before that people were criticizing him for the same **** as they are about Nurse and Ime had a way more talented and versatile roster than Nurse. If you're going to criticize coaching and suggest replacements at least be less dumb about it.

And with how well Boston is playing with Mazzulla, I think it is pretty obvious Ime's coaching wasn't the difference maker at least to the extent the media made it out to be.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ime gets a new coaching job and he ends up like Luke Walton.
