    Nice to see a W!

    So, is Lauri just regressing or are there some health issues? He and Carter both have to stay healthy. If they can they will make a formidable front court someday. I would like it if the Bulls built around those two (I really like Coby as well for the future as he seems like a winner who can play a role on a contender). I know a lot of fans probably (and justifiably so) wanted to let these guys all play together and grow for this year before even thinking about making any trades, but I am of the mindset that you have to be aggressive in the NBA and try to make measured moves that will land you the most concentrated talent you can acquire. I don't know what the values are given that Porter just hasn't seen consistent court time and been out a bit already, but I'd try to trade LaVine and Porter in some kind of package with our 1st to land a superstar. That Porter package for DeAngelo Russell wouldn't even be bad. I think we could roll with that squad and have the more talented player in the deal in Russell. For all the potential, LaVine has been in the league a while and while he's improved basically every year, he still doesn't know how to play basketball that's going to help win a team a lot of games. Even if say
    we had a coaching staff that implemented an offensive system that had produced results in the past elsewhere, is it within LaVine to play well within it? Will it ever click?

    It's something you see in the game's true superstars within a few years where it just clicks. You already see it in Doncic for instance. It's just not something that takes as long as it's taking LaVine. If it was going to happen it would have happened. LaVine isn't that franchise guy. He would be a great 2nd or 3rd option on a championship team, but the Bulls don't have the luxury of having that franchise superstar right now so he could be that secondary option. If the Bulls want to improve their chances they ought to look to get as much value for this guy while his talent and "potential" are enough to be the center of a trade for a marquee player.

    It's hard to watch because this team has not had an identity in a while and while some fraction might want to see how the team develops together because they're more entertaining than the most recent teams, there's no way to do that with the current coaching staff. It's like waiting for the Captain of the ship to steer us back on course, but he's over in the back of the ship looking through the wrong end of the spyglass. We ain't ever finding land with this guy.

    With Russell (doesn't have to be him we trade for) we could focus the offense on Lauri inside and have a ball-handler that can score, but also set Lauri up for open 3's on kick-outs. There's really no explanation for Lauri's play this year so far, other than mis-management of a player at that height, skillset and overall development that can explain how a guy that was putting up 19 and 9 last year and shot the ball from distance at the clip he was before this year. I mean unless it's personal matters or health issues he should have taken that next jump. Again these things are evident early on in a season when or if that jump in play does happen. It seems like LaVine is a player where you add to this team by subtracting him. Not saying just get rid of him, but he's not the answer and I believe he provides enough talent/potential for another team to give up a better player for the right package.

    @B_G

    That is the main reason we need a better coach. Understandably, these players arenít the greatest but between Hoiberg and now Boylen, these players are not developing and are forming bad habits that will stunt them even more.

    Coby is playing well now due to his own talent ability. Give him a year or two with this staff and youíll see regression.

    Wonder what kind of trade value Dunn has to this point. Heís actually been rock solid as a defensive specialist off the bench

    If he plays like this the whole season I honestly bring him back on a cheap deal but he should go if he somehow gets a starter job somehow . Leading the league in steals I think and his assist to turnover ratio has been great so far .

    Love the role Dunn has been filling. This is HIS role. Made for him. Now that the starter/all star expectations are removed, heís allowed to just play to his strengths off the bench and heís been a major asset to the team.

    Ahh. That makes more sense. He still needs to find ways to get to the basket and be around the block more. Heís a mismatch enough of the time. Anyway, Iím hoping we can turn LaVine and Porter Jr along with maybe a 1st if necessary to land a more established centerpiece. I just donít see it with LaVine. He turns it over too much. He seems more of a scorer than an all-NBA 1st or 2nd team type player.

    The offense should focus on Lauri and Wendell. Wendell and Lauri could have a nice inside-out game since Wendell has passing skills and Lauri can hit that 3 ball. I really hope we donít render Wendell to some role player label because he has the ability to do more than he is asked currently. Heís been hurt too much, but his potential to be an offensive threat shouldnít be forgotten or ignored. And seriously, if Lauri gets just one go-to move inside itís curtains. The rest of the way we need him to get up around 18 shots per game and getting inside the paint.
