How in the world would you know why Leon was brought here? I hear stuff like this and it just sounds ridiculous to me. So Leon, the 5 wiz kids, and a full development coaching staff were brought here to make trades for 40yr old players and not evaluate young, up and coming talent and build a team from ground up??...rrriigghhtt...WE"RE delusional...lol

The issue is WWW has been influential enough for the past 10 years for Dolan. Go through the rosters the last 10 years and you can rip through at least 10-15 players if not more that were CAA clients.

Rose takes over and all his thoughts is how to get Paul and Anthony back. Rose has been quiet on all fronts since taking over, that doesnt sit well to me. Most FO would have a plan and say it, especially since those are the things they use to pitch for season tix for the sales team. The Yankees sales team would do this every year to me when I was due for renewing.

Rose is going to mix it up but at what cost to trade for those type players like Paul.

Let Leon do Leon. We don't know his plan because the plan is likely very fluid. Im not gonna criticize before he's had a chance to do anything but in my mind, they must be super focused on development if we're hiring talent recognition analysts and a dev team.

Rose probably believes CP3 will help growth of young players which I agree with just Knicks trading for him now instead of last year its going to sting.

Agreed, we hired a draft guro and two player development specialists. Let's see a focus on youth for once instead of always chasing the old vets who are over the hill or just not very good to begin within.

He still might bring in Paul, while Im not big on that if it done it done. Im more concerned over the price it would cost. I have no issues with Randle, DJ and to an extent Knox, but if it cost a Frank also and multiple 1st rounders its when I would seriously have issues. If its the BS Dallas picks then I might not have a issue as long as its not there own Knicks pick.

If he wants to bring in Melo on top of that, then it would mean renouncing Portis, Bullock, Harkless, Ellington and anyone else not on a rookie deal.

If Rose is thinking just bringing in them 2 as the vets, but everyone else are young players I think I can live with that commitment.

I don't like it either but right now there is too much smoke for there not to be fire. I just hope it doesn't cost us draft capital or RJ/Mitch.

I rather not pursue that myself, but I can tolerate certain things, as long as it doesnt hurt growth and development.

No picks and honestly I wouldnt even really be happy sending Frank or Knox in the deal. Ill take CP3 but hes at the end of his career making 45 million dollars a year, you dont give up picks or actual prospects for that, unless its DSJ. Randle/DSJ and they shed 20+ mil in salary take it or leave it.

I think we have some leverage with the CP3 thing. While some teams like Milwaukee and Philadelphia would be very interested in trading for CP3, the only benefit would be late picks and it would result in bad contracts being sent back to OKC. Maybe they don't care about taking on Bledsoe or Horford, but maybe they want to save money to spend on young FAs who will fit with their young core of SGA, etc.

We're one of the few teams who are able to take CP3 into space, and are willing to do so. I think, at most, we should be willing to part with a DSJ and one of Frank or Knox. AT MOST. If Leon is good, we can get CP3 for like Randle, DSJ and maybe a 2nd or two.

Otherwise, it's not worth it. If we include a 1st in the deal, then blast Leon to the moon.

Dennis Smith Jr is only 22 years old. His first year with Dallas he averaged 15 3 and 5. You dont just give up on that. Its not a coincidence that he comes to New York and fails. We now hopefully have the right coach and development people in place to get him right. I think it would be a very bad decision to trade any of our young guys for a 35 year old making 40mil a year. If Paul wants to play here the most Im willing to give up is a couple of second or late first rounders and Iggy, thats about it.
