He had a bad game with the right timing for Foles to come back. Jags are still kind of in the wildcard hunt (but probably going to miss).

Biggest thing is probably trying to save the front office jobs recovering from the Ramsey stuff. If you win with Foles you can say "well Foles was hurt give me another year" or if you lose with Foles you can say "but look how good I did with the rookie, give me another year" without making a bad call.

If you play the rookie and lose, you made a bad call by keeping the starter on the bench who your owner is paying big $$$$ for.
    Dak: 15,778 @ 65.8%, 7.6 per att, 97+21 TD, 36 INT+31 FMB, 97.0 Rate
    Wentz: 14,191 @ 63.8%, 6.9 per att, 97+3 TD, 35 INT+48 FMB, 92.7 Rate

Makes sense to me. Jags have lost 3 of 5, are outside of the playoffs with a shot to get in, and Minshew had 5 TOs in his last 2 games vs bad defenses.

I mean, Foles isn't really much of an upgrade over Minshew... That's the problem. At this point, it's smarter to ride it out with your rookie instead of potentially ruining that rookie in favor of a QB that really isn't that good anyways.

Foles is definitely an upgrade. Him shredding Minny and NE D en route to the super bowl MVP made me a believer.
He's not all pro or anything, but he's definitely a good QB.
They also have $50M invested in him.

A lot of that was Frank Reich and Doug P but there's no denying that he was good during that run. But to assume that Marrone is even half as talented as those two is absurd.

Don't worry... It will only last like a quarter until Foles is injured again lol

Man, you still really won't let this go lol! Foles is a definite upgrade over Minshew. That said, it's not going to matter much if they can't block for Foles.

You don't pay a guy what they're paying BDN and take his gig away due to injury.....not unless his replacement is doing more than Minshew has. Minshew has earned himself some future money, I'd bet...and who knows maybe this job back. Sitting him for Nick doesn't mean Nick doesn't have a short leash.

    Jags bench Minshew for Foles

I for one donít actually think nick Foles ever got hurt.. I think what is really happening is it took the jaguars 10 weeks to find a cup that actually fits big dick nick.

    Your baby can't do this

Minshew has also earned the Jaguars a decent draft pick too.

In half a season he's on his way to 4000 yards, has 13 TDs to 4 INTs and completing over 60% of his passes. On a cheap rookie contract. For teams looking for a QB, the Jaguars could get a nice haul in return for draft picks.
