After watching the Cyclones this weekend:
Alaverez hits the ball as hard as Piazza. He is thick and swings hard.
Mauricio has a beautiful swing, and looks like he could stay at short. Nice glove and arm. He is tall and lean.
Ginn has a nice breaking ball, and induces quite a few ground balls.

The question is can Vientos or Baty stay at third base. Vientos appears to be a DH in waiting out in the field. And why is Baty playing leftfield? Do the Mets question his ability at third base.

Either way, I think Mauricio will end up at third base, Vientos should have been traded for something big in last week's trade deadline and Baty will end up in leftfield.

After all we are committed to Lindor if he can stay healthy - (or is he the next Wright and deGrom).

Baty should after losing weight and getting in shape this off season. Vientos is not a 3rd baseman. He is a left fielder at this point, along with 1st and DH.

I would like it if they made Mauricio a RF now.

His athleticism will play well there and he has a good arm.

Most MLB teams don't bring a top prospect position player up unless there is a need and they will play regularly.

Since it appears that Vientos is defensively challenged at his primary position (3b), I don't see the Mets handing that position to him. Arguably his best position is 1b but I think we have someone pretty much there for the forseeable future in Alonso.

I know they have played Vientos a bit in LF this season and it appears he might be ok out there but again it all depends on who is there in 2022 when Vientos might be ready.

Right now that is either McNeil (once Lindor gets back) or Dom Smith. Not sure just how Vientos will beats out both of them.

    2022... he's rule 5 eligible this off-season.

I expect the Mets to bump him to AAA next year and bring him up to the MLB if a injury occurs.

Unsure of his outlook until the Mets decide what to do with JD and Baez.
