Hamels and 1 year for 18 would be a fantastic/perfect move for the Cards in this situation

The fact that the writers are keeping Larry Walker out is shameful.

If a hitter isn't allowed in the Hall if he plays in Coors... will they put a pitcher in who has a career ERA of 4 in?

Hamels on a one year deal would be cool. he mentioned about a month ago that he likes playing in the NL central and has good numbers against most/all of the teams in the division. Seems like a good fit to me.

shoot, i would do a 2 year deal for 28-32 million. Keeps things consistent with this payroll window we have going on

I think he wants just one year deals

He had a house in Missouri, I can't remember why. That he donated.

How does Ramon Urias ever get a shot?

.299/.382/.459 career minor league numbers. We're pretty deep at for utility guys. Might spell the end to Munoz as a Cardinal. If they don't end up dealing Tommy Edmon (with the sell high thought)... they might have to shop Urias.

Justin Williams is someone to keep an eye on. He had a monster year in AAA.

They also might decide to trade away Knizner. I would prefer we go with him, but when we have 3 catchers in our top 10 prospects... it might make sense to shop some.

Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped from team to team for the rest of his career. He wants to win.

They probably wouldn't be interested in Carp, but might overpay for Edman

I understand. He was awesome this year.

I'm simply pointing out the advantage of selling high and holding low. Moves like that would be a great way to rebuild the farm system without crippling us next year. I'm not huge on moving Edman. He was too much fun to watch. I just believe he is the type of player that his value is at an all time high.

Very true. But the rangers dont have the young talent to trade for him imo

Woodford, Montero, and Shrock will need to be added to the 40 man in order to be protected from the Rule V. I would assume all 3 will be.

We have 37 on the 40 man if we assume all the 60 day IL guys (Hicks, Cecil) will need to be protected as well.

If those 3 are added, and nobody is removed, and nobody else is added, then we wouldn't have any room to draft anyone or collect a DFA player.

Obviously some guys will get removed for free agency signings and other moves. Wainwright will also need to be added.

Guys out of options that can be removed through DFA

    Rangel Ravelo
    John Gant (non-tender candidate)
    Tyler webb
    Dominic Leone (non-tender candidate)
    Brett Cecil?
    Edmundo Sosa

I think Leone and Ravelo are the most likely to get DFA'd

I just read an article that projected Ozuna to sign for 3 years 45mil.

If that's the case... I certainly want them to go ahead and sign him.
