I'm curious about the Gardy deal and what the hold up is. I would love to find a better option but i'm not sure there is a better FA one. I just don't want them to give him a 2yr deal or a salary more than about 9m.

What i'd really like to see is if they couldn't find a former top spec that needs a change of scenery like Hicks did and pull of a similar swap. Cashman and his team have been excellent at finding those kinda players

I also really hope they haven't given up on Betances either
It was either Heyman or Sherman that reported a Yankees-Gardy deal should be done soon. [emoji1666]

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

Im guessing the most 2yr 22m second yr is a performance based option. That will piss me off i hat to give him 1yr 8m even. Where not paying for what he did last yr were paying for future performance and i just dont see him performing close to how he did last yr

Will say. Yankees have been quiet since the signing.

Hm. Trade in the works? [emoji848] [emoji848]

finally spoke to my buddy since the Cole signing. He said the Dodgers were within 5m but the 9th was a performance based optition. Apperently 2 of Coles biggest priorities were winning and the pitching program, anals, technique and tech. He and Hal had several discussions right up to the time he signed that the Yanks were commited to winning the whole time he was there and Hal would be willing to sign or trade for whatever we need to keep us on that path.

He was very excited about Blake and how hands on Blake is from everything from diet, training programs tailored to each pitcher in an effort to keep their bodies healthy and the Yech and especially what he teaches. Apparently Cole is a huge data and analytics nerd

In the end it was Hal taking over negotiations, not Cashman and Hal promise of a commitment to win at a championship level regardless what it takes. Cole said even though the money was close he wanted to be a Yankee much more than staying on the west coast. We also got alot of help from both Sabaithia's, Pettite and even Mo made a call

He also told me the Yanks have still working toward several large moves but nothing he would say was a blockbuster level. He said they are still working on improving the team beyond just bringing Gardy back and other little moves. He said Andujar, Frazier Voit and pretty much anyone in the system except Dominquez and Gil and would be very reluctant to move Schmidt .

He did say they were definitely looking to improve the middle infield situation, a starter is a possibility but he said it was way more likely to be a back up that they feel can handle the job better than Twade.

Hopefully s couple more interesting moves coming take it for whatever its worth

If they give Slappy two years over giving Dizzle one.....thatís moronic.

Trout must be really pissed off. (I mean as pissed off as you can be with 300 mil, plus endorsements)
Angels have done very little to make themselves competitive. Rendon is a nice addition and improves the lineup for sure. Ohtani will improve the rotation to an extent but I still don't see them even catching the As much less the Astros.

Apparently Cole wants Voit''s jersey number.
The best way to deal with that is, trade the **** out of Voit.

I knew there would be a huge letdown...

That is how I felt the next morning. I had to drink a bottle of Jack on the golf course that morning to help get through the day.

Just rip it off of his back and show him his contract compared to his bag of peanuts.

They spent $1 billion on Trout, PooHoles, Upton and Rendon.

    They will go 75-87.
