Yes, while he was on the team and the post season roster, he didn't pitch at all.

Fernando Rodney, on his 11th team in his 17 year career, finally won a World Series championship.

As someone who is in the Nationals fan base area, a lot of them have crawled out of the woodwork since they got into the ALCS. Just because they are "local" doesn't mean you have to root for them or want them to win.

He finds baseball boring, and sees himself "hopefully not playing baseball" at age 36. Not someone who I would want to give $200 million to right now.

Besides, all of the Nationals big-money deals involve a lot of deferred money. All things equal, if someone matches the Nationals offer for him without any deferrals, it's a better deal to take that.

Well either way, by your definition we can both agree it shouldn't be named after Willie Mays. A guy who hit... .247/.323/.337 in the post season.
Koufax is great, but he's no Mad Bum in the World Series.

I think one can overlook those numbers for arguably the best player of all-time.

Bull****. An 0.95 postseason ERA speaks for itself.

Call me crazy but I'll take the guy with a career 0.25 ERA and 0.53 WHIP in the World Series if we're talking about potential pitchers to name the WS MVP trophy after.
