NLCS Washington Nationals vs. St. Louis Cardinals

I love me some home field advantage!

Ok, so I want this train to keep on rolling! If you had told me in April that Goldie was going to have career low numbers, Carp was going to have career low numbers, Hicks was going to miss the year, Carlos Martinez was going to get hurt and end up in the pen... no chance we're making the playoffs.

Now, we're here. We just knocked out this great Atlanta team. The NLCS is never easy, but we literally got our best matchup! I'm going to guess the odds on this series are really close to 50/50.

We're going to need to play smallball, and our pitchers are going to need to be lights out.

I would assume Mikolas and Wainwright get games 1 and 2 at home which is very ideal. Then Jack starting game 3 on the road. I like that

I got 4 tickets for game 7. Attended game 7 of the NLCS in 2004. Was the best game I've ever been to. If they play, cant wait. Yet rather have them win it earlier.

I'm going to all 4 home games, I'm so pumped!

    Have they announced rotations yet?

    I'll guess

1 STL - Max vs Mikolas
2 STL - Corbin vs Wainwright
3 WAS - Flaherty vs Strasburg
4 WAS - Hudson vs Sanchez
5 WAS - Mikolas vs Max
6 STL - Corbin vs Wainwright
7 STL - Flaherty vs Strasburg

    That's my guess

We just gotta get to their bullpen to win.

Oh ****, that's great for us. Though Sanchez has been rather good.

I wonder when Corbin would pitch then though, because Strasburg's normal rest would give him Game 3

Max just pitched on Monday so I would think he’d go in game 2.

I figured Sanchez was a go for game 1. He had a solid performance. The good news, is that means we'll face him twice and one of the aces (probably Corbin) only once.

    (if it goes 7)

I would say so, but I thought we had to win game 2 and then game 3 was a must win of the Atlanta series too.

Moz took over in the off-season of 2007-2008, 2007 was our last under .500 season.

And I have seen people say he inherited the great teams he had, but 2011 wasn't an inherited team, that was Moz all day. The only players he didn't have anything to do with extending or developing were Chris Carpenter and Albert Pujols who were extended by Jocketty prior to Moz (though Moz was in the front office at those times and I'm sure was influencing those deals).

    The rest he did.

    Since 2008

The Cardinals haven't had a sub .500 season, the only other team that hasn't had a sub .500 season since 2008 are the Yankees.

The Cardinals are 1076-868 (.553), which is the third best record in baseball since then (Yankees and Dodgers)

    12 seasons, we have
    1 World Series Title
    2 Pennants (2nd most)
35 playoff wins (3rd most, 1 behind the Giants, 6 behind the Dodgers)
4 Division Titles (2nd most, Dodgers most)

He has some bad deals in his history, but every GM does. I think it's time we cut this front office some slack.

When you consider this front office runs a payroll around 10th-14th every year, and are one of the top 3 teams to play over the last 12 years, it's hard to criticize the front office too much.

If we were to fire this front office, and we hired a new front office who over the next 12 years would deliver these results, I think we'd be very pleased with them.
