LOL gasol was in the playoff with Grizz, Even if he did not why Bosh get the his Jersey retired in Canada?

So now Iggy Klay and Green are super stars and you can build a team around any one of them? See what yall do? your only good if you win a ring or it fit the argument. I got that winning a ring is the goal. But so much goes into winning a ring.

The whole Detriot team was stars when the beat Lakers. Which one you want to build your team around? So if a good team is built was Kobe the only reason? Dude Pau played a huge role in winning those rings. If you are going to give Klay credit you have to give Pau credit. If you are going to give Iggy credit then you have to give odom credit.

If your going to call young inexperienced Kyrie a star then you have to call bynum a star. Did he not provide the muscle inside even taking out Perkins?

What green accomplished that Artest did not?

Dude is that another in your excuse circle. I know you had a laugh typing that. Dude the NBA have a cap.

Lamar Odom averaged 7 points in the finals series against the Celtics.

2014 Heat super team that lost to Spurs in a record breaking fashion. James, Wade, Bosh, Allen and Lewis all out scored Odom.

2019 Warriors super team that lost to the Raptors. Curry, Klay, Green, Iggy and Cousin all out scored Odom.

Difference hear is Odom was enough for Lakers to be led by Kobe and take down the super team Celtics.

What excuse? You've been saying that in LA stars just come here like it's nothing. This shows that your idea is fast out wrong. No two ways about it. Stars don't just go play for the lakers. They have always had to either trade for them or draft them. in the entire history father franchise, they've signed Shaq and LBJ. That's it. Two major signings over 60 years or so. that averages out to having one major signing every 30 years.

No Wallace did not average more points then Shaq or Kobe. Not even close actually.

Malone averaged 5 points and Payton averaged 4 points in the finals. Here is a list of players who played for the Heat that averaged more points then Malone and Payton.

    James
    Wade
    Bosh
    Battier
    Miller
    Chalmers
    Haslem
    Allen
    Lewis

The Lakers were not in 1st when they traded for Gasol, they were like 5th or 6th in the conference

Gasol made an all-star team in Memphis. Even with that he was all-star caliber pretty much the day he started playing which has been a label that has been given to many players discussed in this thread

I don't remember where they stood in the conference, but they were atop the pacific division before Bynum got hurt (so they definitely weren't 5th or 6th).

Most of those guys didn't have a choice as they were drafted or traded for. LBJ and Shaq are the only ones who outright signed here. Howard left as soon as he had the chance. AD was saying he wanted to come here, but so have a ton of other players and once they have the chance to, they go somewhere else (e.g., PG, KL, Melo, Aldridge, Butler). Every year we've made moves to have cap space and every year those guys allegedly interested in playing here sign elsewhere.

Was that on the day of the trade or when Bynum got hurt? I'm referencing when Bynum got hurt. We lost several games shortly after Bynum went down which might've knocked down a few spots, but before that I think he might've been right that we were 1st in the west (given how close these records are a few weeks later and the ensuing losing streak after the Bynum injury).

That was the last game the lakers played prior to the trade happening. That's what I was responding to bc BJ said the trade happened after they were in 1st place.
