    Looking forward to the update.

Lilj has been disappointing so far. Hope he doesn’t get down on himself and takes the challenge appropriately.

I am most curious to see what the Russian 1st rounder can do in North America.

Which guy? Mikheyev was a free agent from Russia and Korshkov(sent to the Marlies) was a 2nd rounder.

Korshkov. You’re right I thought he was a late 1st but he was an early 2nd.

Finally a prospect update coming Saturday or Sunday. All of last year's picks and the best of the rest.

I'll do the prospect report day by day. Today we take look at the most recent 2019 Draft.

Nick Robertson, LW, Peterborough Pete's (OHL)
    2nd round 2019 (53rd overall)

    17GP 19G 9A 28pts

Forming a lethal combination with fellow Leaf draft pick Semyon Der-Arguchintsev. Tireless worker with a wicked shot.

Mikko Kokkonen, D, Jukurit Mikkeli (SM-LIGA)
    3rd round 2019 (84th overall)

    15GP 1G 1A 2pts

Like most young players in Europe, ice time is mostly granted to older players for better or worse. Hopefully a move to North America next year will benefit this kid. Lots of offensive potential and a hammer from the point.

Mikhail Abramov, C, Victoriaville Tigers (OMJHL)
    4th round 2019 (115th overall)

    28GP 18G 15 A 33pts

Odd to see a playmaker with more goals than assists but he does amass points. Prone to the odd stretch where he disappears. But when on can be the best on the ice. Consistency is the issue.

    Nick Abruzzese, C, Haravard (ECAC)

    2019 4th round (124th overall)

    7GP 2G 8 A 10pts

A smaller centre finding himself down the depth chart. Point production looks good but don't be fooled. Jury is still out here.

Michael Koster, D, Tri-City Storm (USHL)

    2019 5th round (146th overall)

    13GP, 16 4A 5pts

Smallish defender with a long road ahead of him. Won't truly get a sense of where he could go until a few years from now.

Kalle Loponen, D, Sudbury Wolves (OHL)

    7th round (204th overall)

    25GP 6G 9A 15pts

Even though a lower pick I would place him ahead of both Abruzzese and Koster. Smart player who probably made the right choice by coming to junior and getting more than 12 minutes a night in Europe. Time will tell as it does with all low picks but he's one to watch over the years.

Coming tomorrow the 2018 Draft. Go Leafs Go!

I love the pairing of specs that we see in Peterborough.
Coming up the system together will keep them both sharp.

Still tough to get a read on a lot of these guys.

They're definitly all projects. Some will make it alot will fall by the wayside. Robertson is the closest to a sure thing but still not a sure thing.

Robertson/brooks/brown... they’ve been good at drafting guys before they break out. We have all the top end talent the cap will allow, so having those cheap guys who fit into the middle 6 are huge.
