Yeah, the price I seen on Marte is too much, but then again vets!

    NY Mets offseason

**** Marte. He doesnít really help us except for maybe providing speed and right-handedness in CF. His defense at this point is on par with Nimmoís.

Iíd rather just gamble on JD improving defensively in LF and letting him mash again. As opposed to once again dealing numerous assets from our depleted farm for another misfit piece.

Anyways the Marte trade proposed by Duquette is horrendous. Gimenez + Peterson/Vientos + Kilome? Really? Let's further deplete our minor league team and depth.

Marte scares me as someone who is just gonna get worst every year if he comes here
I donít want to trade Kilome, I think heís going to be a very useful bullpen piece in the not so distant future

I was livid when they signed Bay
I vividly remember a friend breaking the news to me and my head dropping and nodding in disgust.

Vlad and Bonds were huge heartbreakers, I was a tremendous fan of both players. I think I still have the newspaper with Bonds on the front cover where the rumors were the Mets were in on him

So...I guess we're not prioritizing bullpen help?

I'm not that high on Marte. His defense is not what it used to be.

On the positive side, he has speed and despite hitting RH, hits righties better than lefties. The Mets did not hit RH pithcing last year as well as they did LH pitching, albeit Cano was out a lot.

But we already have a crowded OF and I am hopeful of seeing Cespedes back.

Also, granted, the Mets had the worse defense in terms of DRS in the national league at -68 (LA was tops at +93). But defensive metrics are still not the wherewithal that other stats are. Heck, even Lagares had a -DRS. Overall, only 3 mets had positive DRS figures. So, unless you go with the adage that even a little bit helps, landing Martes is not going to be a difference maker IMO. You would still have negative defensive ratings for SS, 2b, C, and 3B (assuming JD Davis).

2B and Cano shares time at 1B, 2B, and 3B to give guys days off and be our main pinch hitter off the bench.

Team improved if they do that, but they won't... Of course

    Yup

Imo to get a good season from Cano, they have to use him less and hence they needs guys to step up and play for him.

Right now is McNeil and Lowrie at third.

Would prefer the guy that can steal and play solid defense.
