Well mlb messes with the ball every year seemingly to destroy that idea. Leaguewide offense going down 10 pct didn’t make much sense to make it more enjoyable to watch.

Our boy Fred McGriff getting into the hall. So happy for him.
Celebratory labbatt blue if anyone else is in
Apparently we looking at Verlander
Though $130 over 3 years seems steep for a 39 year old.
To me the most exciting part of that is (figuring no way we expect v-lander to sign for under 40 AAV) we have more like 40m to spend possibly.
And in that case, I spread it around.
Unless they are thinking-
Sign Verlander
Trade Moreno for a stud OF.
Verlander to Mets.
Kershaw back with the Dodgers.

The sp we sign/trade for is gonna be a lefty you gotta think with top 3 sp being righty.
Made an offer to Heaney. Hope it is competitive. He would be a good add
Not a big secret that the Phillies would spend big on a shortstop. First domino there to fall. Still lots of huge FA’s left.
I would've taken Verlander at 2 years but not 3. Wonder how close we were.
Heaney is the so that stood out to me b4 off-season started. Double up? Heaney and stripling ?
Would mean eating/trading richards
I would be thrilled if we got both Stripling and Heaney in FA. Was thinking that today actually. Then address CF with the catcher surplus and it would be an exciting off-season for me. I imagine some would be underwhelmed, but two really solid pitchers that can pitch in a variety of situations, a high end reliever for Teoscar (one of our worst defensive players) and improving the OF defense through trading a catcher. That is a highly effective off-seaosn for me.
In that situation—-
-Jansen-Richards-merryweather-prospect for a CF
-Brantley
Apparently we offered Gibson 10 mil for 1 year.
