Blue Jays talking to Kikuchi. I think on a 1 year deal I am fine with him.

    Gausman deal (without incentives):

    $21m in 2022-23
    $22m in 2024
    $23m in 2025-26.

with an 8 team NTC. My math is a little rusty, but that's more like 131M/5, not 110.

    Using the new math it's 22 *5=110

    2*21=42+22=64+23=87+23=110

May take me a few years to start respecting that format.
    10 teams is enough.

God I hope not. If MLB is going full NBA count me out. The one thing baseball had is that the regular season meant something.......

I would have signed Mark Melancon to that contract.

I'll be disappointed if they expand playoffs. I'm not even a fan of two wildcard teams.

Regular season means something. Think of that 2015 playoff run. 20+ years of no playoffs and then finally making it was a special time to be a fan, especially for those who stuck with it thick and thin.. You just appreciate the difficulty of the game more when you make the playoffs.

I wasnt a fan of 2 WC teams at first but got used to it. I just dont like how its a do or die.

I think the problem with baseball is you play so many games with so little spots that it becomes too much of a pain to watch sometimes. If they played like 80 games with less spots then having less playoff teams is more acceptable. But for the most part it can feel like torture if you waste away 162 games and only a few teams make it.

Playoff seeding should just be by conference. End divisions.

I think a part of the PA's proposal is to scrap the three divisions in each league and run with two in each league, one with 8 and one with 7

I love divisional rivalries and having to beat the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays to get into the playoffs. That's 57 highly entertaining games for Jays fans. They are a nice change of pace during the marathon too for the players I would think. Just a little extra motivation for the week. Trying to make major changes to the game is what will cause this work stoppage to be drug out into the season. Baseball players should just be happy there is no cap and sign the deal.

Well thatís the other side of things no doubt. I think they can keep the division schedule, but the playoff seeding should be done by conference record with tie breaking games. The NBA made it so you donít have 2 great teams facing off in the first round. MLB canít even make it so a 90 win team makes the playoffs over an 85 win team that won their weak *** division.
