Just saying. If Bryant's worth a 30-50, top 100, and an average MLB player, then I can't imagine they're asking much more for Lindor or Betts

Yeah, maybe. Might be a little short for Lindor (or maybe not) but Iíd guess that would totally get Betts. A mlb ready top 50 and a top 75 in AA and a flyer on a post hype former top 10 pick with some mlb success offensively for a year of Betts at $30 mil? Iíd assume that would do it and the Cubs might add 5-6 wins in 2020. But thatís probably not the path they are taking.

Agreed. Just suggesting something I saw a week ago. We talked about that a little. And agreed if that was the offer the Cubs would take it. Same with that one suggesting Adell and Canning for KB. Have to hope one of those off the wall suggestions becomes a real offer, if you are of the belief they need to move the core. Or hope they donít get anything they like and keep the core if you want to try again making smaller moves in 20í

It's insane looking back at how much of an overpay Chapman and Quintana were based on today's market. Same with a few FA deals we signed. It feels like the FO was 2 years late adjusting to the new economics of baseball

Anyone saying that KBs market is depressed because of the arb costs the next two years... isnít considering the fact that he will only be signed for two years. Thatís a WHOLE lot less risky than what Bryce, Machado and others have been getting on the open market. Plus you get two years to negotiate a longer term with him.

But we can all agree that no matter what... KB will either bring in a haul or he wonít be traded.

Iím absolutely considering his control. Itís about surplus value. You are getting 2 years of KB at about $45 mil. Whatís his value for those years? Then subtract. Thatís the value you trade for him plus a little premium to get a deal done and to get the player.

Uh oh, Jasmine sounds like a womanís name. Do we need to break down her resume?

Wish we made some player signings instead of FO and coaching hires

Front office hires can be just as important as player signings. Look how adept the Dodgers and Cardinals are when it comes to developing quality talent, despite not picking in the top ten for years.

Any scouting or Front office hires to turn this organization into LA or St. Louis, from a player development standpoint, would be a massive coup.

This is also important considering they're planning on trading away core players for prospects

Wanna make sure you're not sorting yourself on these prospects
