Is it just me or is he squatted down way lower now than when he came up? He looked more upright in that video from 2015

He is way lower now. Improbable to catch up to the high FB now.

Not sure how much the Sox are going to spend but theyre already at 86 mil (11 plyrs) 25 man/ 112 40 man for 2020

They have only been over 100 mil 3 times in last 8 seasons, so I'm not totally buying it til I see it that they're going to be spending this offseason on a couple more guys like Wheeler, etc.

I think Grandal going to be their big signing

Well, this is a loaded answer. His SLG% on fastball high and in was higher in 2015 than 2019 in a few spots high and in (though he had a good slugging on just out of the zone high-and-in) That said his contact percentage is way up, like, 20%. His 2019 is the only year his up-and-in on fastball slugging was this low. 2018, even in an injured year, was just fine.

I don't think the batting stance has much to do with that as he was about as low in 2018 as he was in 2019. The stats don't bear out that it's improbable to catch up to the high FB now.

Interesting that the Cubs and Yankees have now hired women as minor league coaches. I know Justin Stone personally hired Rachel to teach hitting, he seems really excited about her abilities.

Chances are very slim... Iím not saying that she couldnít be better than the avg man but we are talking about elite level athletes. By hiring her, youíre effectively saying that you consider her to be the best available person to do the job.

    Do you think thatís true?

Your bias is coming in loud and clear here. Honestly it doesnít even matter what you or I think. But I am sure the FO absolutely thinks who they hired is the best available. Being that I believe in the FO, I assume it is as well.

Fact of the matter is, no one here has any idea what she offers and how it will work out. She could be the greatest hire ever, she could be a colossal disaster. We have no clue. I just hope, either way, good or bad, she is judged/evaluated fairly. And letís be honest, itíll be almost impossible for the system to get worse than it has been the past three-four years.
