Definitely still want MadBum. I can envision a sort of Verlander resurgence for him. Verlander pitched to a 4.54 ERA in 2014 (his age 31 season) and the year before people were questioning his future thinking he was nearing the end of his dominance (his FIP had been increasing too). Then 2014 happened and people thought that they were validated in that assessment. Of course now it's silly to think about as Verlander has been amazing.

I think MadBum could have a similar sort of rebound in his later career. I wouldn't be opposed to a 4 year deal for sure.

Darren OíDay resigned. 2.25 million with a team option of 3.5 million for 2021.

Honestly I wouldnít even include Cole or Strasburg. The chances of either signing here are basically zero. Bumgarner or Wheeler are likely to be our top targets.

But to answer your question, I would bring back Teheran as a last resort. If we look for a 1 year rental Cole Hamels would be my #1 target. Truth be told I want him no matter what other moves we make. I view his potential impact on and off the field to be very helpful to this team.

If we miss out on Bumgarner or Wheeler then I expect AA to make a trade. Lynn or Minor would be solid targets. Snell is my pipe dream. Kluber might be available but he worries me.

Thatís possible but the injuries were pretty freak. An ATV accident and then a line drive. If he had TJ or some other lingering injury then probably but Iím not sure if two freak injuries will scare away teams. I could be wrong, though.

Passan also tweeted the Phillies and Rangers have expressed interest in Donaldson.

Would be pretty amazing. Resign Chris Martin and I'm pretty happy with that with money to spend.

His brother and Wright for him is actually a decent deal for both sides, I like it.

2019/20 Off Season Braves Transaction Predictions

DOB mentioned the Braves could look at Jason Castro to platoon with Flowers if they miss out on someone better. Pretty sure we looked at Castro a few years ago.

What about Cervelli again? I liked what he brought to us.

With how many concussions he's had in the past, the Braves probably can't bank on him to catch 80 games. Castro on the other hand will at least offer us similar production to what McCann gave us this season. A platoon of Castro-Flowers will give us solid production.

Not being a jerk, but this doesnít spark a hope of being content with that position. And I donít even want to be content. I want to trust and believe in it.

It could be worse. Last year Castro posted pretty good splits against RP:

    .254/.354/.497/.851 with 13 homers (197 AB's)

Flowers struggled with lefties last year but in his career he's hit them well. His 2017 and 2018 splits against lefties:

    2017: .283/.433/.396/.829
    2018: .348/.511/.606/1.117

Flowers 2018 numbers are pretty inflated but if both have around an .800 OPS in their respective split then I'll take that. I much rather prefer Grandal or Contreras but both may end up being too expensive. Flowers and Castro would be solid yet unspectacular. Maybe even re-sign Cervelli to a minor league deal and bring him to spring training.

I agree, I mean, if we end up with Castro and Flowers we have to improve somewhere else, our offense was good in 2019 but we didn't (still don't) have elite SP like the Nats. We won't win by staying put, we need to improve everywhere.

I don't think the plan is to improve the OF, we already bring back Kakes to come back in a platoon and AA don't want to block Waters or Pache. The infield is set, so catcher is the obvious position to improve, that's why Grandal or Contreras is our best choice ti improve the offense.
