Not saying it isnít true. Itís just older news. Itís the same things that were said before. People retweet and repost things to keep spark up.

So say we lose out on JD. You think the asking price to trade for other players (Lindor, Bryant, etc) will go up since teams will be more aggressive since JD will be off the table?

Sounds quite likely. If theyíre inclined to move the player, which they donít seem to be, then maybe not. I feel they could see the desperation and try to take advantage. Or maybe the opposite, they see that we arenít Willing to give JD what he wants, so we must not be that desperate. Depends on how the Braves make the others feel about losing out on JD, if that happens.

4 yrs at 92 makes me think we did not offer 4 yrs. $23 per yr is what we paid for him last yr. He outplayed that valuation by every analyst, so if the value was 25 or 26 on a 3 yr deal, the 4th yr is only at $14 mil a yr at 26, 17 at 25...not awful.

Hoping we get involved with Rox and beat Cardinals deal for Arenado or we go for Bryant. If we decide to take one of our most critical 3 offensive players out and play Markakis as a starter, then we are much worse. Take away Teheran and Keuchel, add Hamels (injury prone) and we need to do something to lengthen this lineup

Braves arenít trading for Arenado or Bryant. They let josh walk. Itís clear that Austin Riley is now the guy. If they make a move, it will be for an outfield bat imo

What the hell? Why didnít we do that deal? I thought for sure we would be in at $100 million and 4 years.

    Thatís insane.

Camargo or Riley at 3rd now. That could be a disaster if neither makes adjustments.

Iím gonna guess Camargo starts off at 3rd. Riley will definitely get a chance in spring training but heís likely going to need more time in the minors. He was terrible after his 4-5 week barrage.

Iím hoping we can sign Castellanos. I know his defense stinks but heís easily the best bat left on the market. Iím not a big Ozuna fan.

It isn't a shock that Donaldson signed elsewhere. The fact that this went on so long was a bad sign for Atlanta because it wouldn't have taken this long if Atlanta had the best offer on the table. It has been suggested that the Braves had a 4 year offer on the table but maybe it wasn't for quite as much overall money and probably didn't have the 5th year option.

AA isn't dumb. He will get one of Bryant, Lindor, Arendado or Castellanos

Iím not so sure. The price tag on Lindor is probably way to high. Arenado doesnít seem likely given the prospect haul and the potential for him to opt out. Castellanos is supposedly being pursued heavily by the Rangers. Bryant might be the only logical option but we donít even know how many years of control he has left.
